One of my coworkers died last night in a motorcycle accident. I worked with him like every other week. If any of you drive a motorcycle, please be careful.

My mom's cousins first husband also died in a motorcycle accident. If you get hit, you're pretty much screwed when riding a bike.

I'm sorry for their loss. I had friended this man on PSN. One day we were working in the field together and he started talking to this couple whose daughter was going to school for game design. He had mentioned working on a motorcycle game. We started to chat more and more about life and games, like we do here. He was a good man. No one in the sedan was severely hurt. I saw the wreckage from news report online. The police are still investigating the crash.

Always wear a helmet, even if on the back of the bike. My older brother, when he was younger, was riding with a friend on his bike, the rider was wearing a helmet but my brother (sitting in the back) wasn't. They crashed, my brother broke his orbital bone because his face smashed into the back of the helmet really hard.

Took my sister and nephew to an appointment yesterday so he could have a dyspraxia test. When he came out I asked him if he's a certified mong now and he laughed and said yes, we chatted about what tests he had done for a minute or so while we waited for his mum and he said "I wonder how much dyspraxia I've got?" so I jokingly said that knowing him, probably all of it. Turns out that on a scale of 1-99, with 99 being essentially normal, he scored 1. Little fella is pretty much as dyspraxic as you can be. We all knew before the tests that he had it, but it's good to have an actual diagnosis. Now I just need to find a Captain Dyspraxia tshirt for him.

GAF, I have a networking question. the internet port and router is set up right beside our sofa, how do i run an ethernet cable right across the room to the TV?

i know how to do the ugly way, gimme the pretty way please lol

In the last house I lived in, I ran the cable along the wall, up and around the door, then back down along the wall close to the floor, to the back of the TV with adhesive cable clips.

Or, you could call an electrician to run the cable through your walls.

Or, use a power line adapter.

My question is: What do you consider "pretty"? Like cord completely out of sight? Or are you okay with having the cord exposed by neatly along the wall and ceiling? If the latter, I use things like these cable clips (pictured below) to run cables I need to keep off the ground but want them to look tidy and blend in with the walls. Like Rentahamster Rentahamster mentions, there are also adhesive versions if you want to minimize wall damage from screws or nails.

There are also D-Line cable covers that are similar to flexible conduit you can stick to the wall and ceiling then run your cable through them. Again, not entirely invisible, but better looking than loose cable. These are a bit trickier because they usually come in fixed lengths, though they can usually be easily cut with a small handsaw or PVC cutter if you have one.

Thank you both!

If its just for a smart tv you could use powerline adapters, then you don't need to run any cables at all.

TV + 1-2 consoles probably.

TV + 1-2 consoles probably.
You can run consoles through them, they tend to have lower latency than WiFi but mine sometimes need to be rebooted, they are however about 10 years old.

You can pick up a cheap and cheerful set of tp-link adapters and a cheap gigabit switch for less than £50, could be worth a shot.

Looks like the GAF image upload module is broken? Haven't been able to upload images for a bit, it's only 150kb so size shouldn't be an issue.

Driving across states, stopped by my first ever waffle House on the side of the highway. A bit disappointed to see no active fights going on here at the moment.

Just wait until you experience your first 7-11 visit.

Does anyone know if there's a way to have auto subtitles on prime? If I'm watching Netflix or Disney then foreign language films and parts of English films in a different language automatically display subs, on amazon it's either subtitles on everything or no subtitles at all. Totes annoy.
