Updated first round matchup odds as of today!
3:1 odds of Flames:Kings. I know which of those 2 teams I wanna play....
Hawks-Blues would be an amazing bloodbath
When the Jets slide right on our of the 'yoffs (perhaps this week!) are you guys going to bother pretending you didn't care either way? We certainly won't be insulted by any fans that openly admit they'd rather play the Jets and start the series down 0-2 then play the fucking Kings.
Jets fans won't call your wife a cunt and then sit back and ask their buddy why the ref blew the whistle.(it was icing)
Is anyone making the off-season thread? Because I want to.
Yeah I know. Just kinda bitter that Winnipeg will likely miss the playoffs because of this. Although you do have to admit it would be convenient for the NHL to have LA make it at Winnipeg's expense.
Poor Ducks might have to face the Kings
Invisible sandwich?

Thread title got me to try to shift my tablet to landscape to see if there was anything more...good show good show.
An actual thing that happened? Aw geez.
I considered mentioning this last night but I didn't because I thought it was kind of dumb. A Leafs fan site posted an April Fools story "breaking" that Alex Radulov was going to return to the NHL as a Leaf next season.
Except this morning a Russian sports news site picked up the story: https://twitter.com/sport_ru_portal/status/583296588304424960 http://www.sport.ru/hockey/Aleksandr_Radulov_nujen_Toronto/article271502/
I guess they don't have April Fools in Commieland :lol
edit: apparently it is hitting multiple Russian sites. My god.

Oh and here's a video of Garrett Gamble's day as a Leaf, looks like he had a blast:

He threw an invisible burger onto the ice? Must have been Hammond playing
Oh Jeffler!

It actually happened to someone else near me, thank God. There would have been violence if it had happened to me. But it makes you not want to even bother going to games when the Kings fans are there... which only worsens the problem.
One of them did call my grandma a bitch for clapping after a goal (at home no less) when I was six or seven.

I tried signing Radulov to the maple laffs in EHM but he wanted like $10M per year
Fuck that commie.
Yeah Zimmer, there's a big difference between the fans who go to Staples (like you) and the ones who show up at the Pond. You yourself would probably get heated with the Kings fans at the Pond.
And of course, you wouldn't even know they're there if they don't get a lead in the game.
I signed Brunner instead
also traded for Tarasenko who was surprisingly cheap to get
Conacher is a beast in EHM too :lol
How Come there's not a Friday Night Lights-Like TV Show about Hockey.
I'd watch the hell out of that

I'm pretty sure there's been attempts at a hockey-based TV series. Maybe not quite like FNL, though.
One I can remember is Rent-A-Goalie, which I now just found out has shadowkat's boy Stephen Amell.
It honestly doesn't take much to pull off good trades in this game, but some weird trades do happen. Like in my game the flyers just traded Simmonds to the sabres for Josh Gorges.
I traded a bunch of 4th liners and 30 year old career AHLers for prospects like Pulkkinen, Ouellet, Marincin, McCabe, Gostisbehere, Andrighetto. Its hilarious.

No American produced ones though right?
Let's be honest, Canada makes some shitty television. Hockey doesn't tie into school the same way football does either, which helps add drama outside of just the games.
A drama series based around a junior hockey team could probably be pretty good. Kid moving away from home and living with a billet family could make the personal side of the story interesting.
Stephen Amell was in Rent a Goalie? Say Whaaat
I never watched it. That was like during the time Showcase had like Trailer Park Boys, Kenny vs Spenny.
God Trailer Park Boys is so good. The First Three Seasons are God Tier. I wonder how the Netflix Seasons are.
Hmmm, but for a couple moves I pulled off early on I've found the GMs to be pretty cagey. Apart from getting Buffalo's 1st for Panik, Frattin and change, and St. Louis for Kozun and Sill* (which I think is due to the cap) I wasn't able to pull off any fleecings at all during the regular season.
*Slather and Vigneault were both fired in February.

Hockey is difficult to choreograph/film too don't forget.
