As much as I wanted Subban to play and felt he should have played was he really shafted when the team won gold and only gave up 3 goals?
I honestly have not seen much at all of Tarasenko outside of games against the Wild/Olympics this year and while he will probably develop into a permanent top-six guy if he isn't already there, do you really think he'll be better than a guy like Backes or Oshie? Different play styles aside, I mean.
Pretty much the same situation with Schwartz, although I did see a few games of his while he was in college and I was not very impressed. I honestly forgot you guys had Rattie. He could definitely be something.
Defense of the Blues is fantastic. I saw Schmaltz play in person the other weekend(I think I came back and discussed that with you but I'm not sure) and think he could be something for sure. I've always liked Allen and have quickly developed a man crush on Sobotka this year. Oshie is one of my favorite players, and Backes is up there as well. Except when they're playing Minnesota :lol
If not for being an in-division "rival" I would probably be cheering on the Blues quite a bit.
Subban will undoubtedly be a force in 2018
I'm happy Karlsson got a silver medal. Shortly he'll have to play with this idiot again:
Now that's gotta suck.
How can I go back to watching Bozak play with Kessel and JVR now
Never really noticed him, which is good for him with the style he plays. Was a good counter to Doughty.PIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCKKKKKKKLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS
Hopefully he gets more respek now.
Yeah that's why he was there. To do the white things and not make mistakes. His presence helps let Doughboy do his thing without worries.Never really noticed him, which is good for him with the style he plays. Was a good counter to Doughty.

Damn you, Don Quick. I'm still expecting one last Cherry blast to close out that thread...
Nice! He has been one of my favorite Sharks for years. Just always makes good plays and consistently shuts down top competition. Wish we had a real #1 guy for him to play with.I played beer pong with his brother and met him a few times, great quiet guy.
Keep that thread open. I got my magnum opus coming.
YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN BE POSTING
GOLD MEDAL HRTC!!!!!
Some of those posts in the Olympic thread... glad it's over.

Cool. All of this on the terrifying big ice too.Canada never trailed in the tournament & allowed only 3 goals in 6 games, fewest by any gold-medal winner in the modern era (since 1956).
Keep pushing the anti-Subban agenda. And that's without Subban, amazing Shutdown D was more valuable.
A big part of Canada's amazing defence was how well the forwards back checked and clogged the neutral zone and blue line.

Better shutdown then most guys on the team, and that's from a Vancouver fan.
Draper wasn't slow in 06. He wasn't even slow when he retired. He was comparable to Bergeron back then.Guess all the "big ice" buildup was really just media hype. For all the comparisons to 2006, the media failed to mention that players like Draper, Redden, Foote, McCabe, and Smyth were on it: old and slow players who were even more ineffective on a bigger ice surface.
But I guess if Canada didn't win gold everyone would be moaning about how Giroux was left at home and Subban was benched in favour of Hamhuis.
