Finishing last and then picking 4th would be the most Canucks thing ever.
They've lost 8 straight and gotten our hopes up. Now it's time to win the remaining 7 and ultimately pick 9th.

Probabilities like this always trip me up. Maybe it's like the Monty Hall problem, where your odds are paradoxically higher than they appear to be.

That's why I'm unsure. The Monty Hall problem frustrates me, though to be fair I've only had it explained to me by a friend while I was drunk.
