Pens have the heart and are winning faceoffs and hustling, but they can't seem to bring it into the Caps zone cleanly.

Pens are trying hard, there's just a huge gulf in quality between both teams this year.

Even though Pens have tried to keep their roster identical, it's obvious this is not the same team as the one who won the cup last year. They are getting outshot in almost every game, their transition is awful, they have no puck possession. They can barely string two good passes together at times. They show glimpses of their cup winning form seldomly.

No Letang, injuries to some key guys like Hagelin/Hornqvist/Crosby, other guys underperforming badly (Bonino, Sheary, etc), a bit less hunger maybe.

The reasons why it's a 3-2 series right now are the goalies and Caps just being terrible at taking their chances.

Pens might still steal this though because Caps are not even putting enough pressure right now and Holtby could well shit the bed again.
