You can say he produces some of the worst work, because that's true, but you cannot say he is one of the worst actors because he quite obviously has quite the talent, as evidenced in his earlier roles.
 
We're told the police came and told Nic and his wife to just go home. That's when Nic allegedly told cops, "Why don't you just arrest me?" The cops then reiterated that he and his wife should just go home. Cage then repeated his dare to cops.

At that point, police took Nic into custody and charged him with ...domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.

Also, great actor, just in terrible movies half the time. Overall I like him.
 
Back in 2000, my mom took me to see Tom Jones when we were in Vegas. Nic Cage was there on one of his first dates with his soon-to-be wife Lisa Marie Presley. During the show, Nic kept throwing ladies' underwear on the stage, just like girls totally used to do at Tom Jones shows. It was incredibly funny.

So in conclusion: ALL YOU NIC CAGE HATERS CAN GO SHUT UP AND DIE BECAUSE YOU WISH YOU WERE AS COOL AS HIM. >:|

People who think Nicolas Cage sucks or can't give a compelling performance anymore need to watch 2009's Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. Shit was fucking outstanding and Cage was transcendental.

Just because he makes a lot of paycheck films and does stupid shit for fun doesn't mean he's not great.

Why does it seem that you need to be batshit insane to be successful in Hollywood? Are there any normal, well-adjusted action legends left? Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, Nic Cage...my childhood is a LIE

David Tenant is just a sh*tty Scottish Nicholas Cage with none of the acting chops. Someone get Cage in the Tardis, maybe then we can get the stink of Tenant and his douchebag haircut off Doctor Who.

That's ok, if he goes to jail the other jailmates will taunt him and he'll turn into Ghost Rider and break out of Jail and stuff and then he has to go fight that guy and nail eva mendes and stuff.

True, I can respect his talent as an actor but he was still being an idiot in the story in the OP.

You forgot Lord of War, Red Rock West and Matchstick Men. Hell, he was really good in Kick-Ass, too, giving one of the best Adam West impressions I've ever heard!

Kick-Ass/Matchstick Men are decent although I'm not a fan of Lord of War.


Regardless, he's great in other stuff I was just throwing his BEST stuff out there. He's really exceptional given the chance.
 
Hating the Nic Cage is the Apple of hating actors, and I'm a PC.

Bad Lieutenant is a great move and a great performance. If you haven't seen it, you are missing a movie that you would enjoy.
 
Nic Cage has friends in high places ... TMZ has learned it was Duane "Dog" Chapman who posted the bond for Cage today

As TMZ first reported, Cage was arrested this morning in New Orleans on charges of domestic violence and disturbing the peace after an alleged argument with his wife Alice.

Sources close to Dog and his wife Beth tell TMZ they were the ones who helped get Nic out of jail -- he was being held on $11,000 bond.

Beth alluded to the bail out, posting on her Twitter, "My guy just walked out of the jail damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that's a lot of time to Process one guy."
