I have to say, this cd REALLY grew on me in the months since it's release and is now my top CD of 2005, which is odd. I originally thought it was somewhere in the middle. Some songs were pretty good, some were ok, some were eh. Now, it somehow became one of my favorite NIN albums ever. As a big NIN fan, I think most of the hate this album has recieved was primarily because of its untraditional NIN sound. Once you can let that go, you'll find yourself listening to it over and over again (You'll also find it sounds much more like NIN then you first gave it credit for). At least, that's how it hit me. There's just a ton of diversity and creativity though out, from the song arrangments to the excellent use of electronic sounds and styles. Out of all 13 songs on the cd there is only one I didn't quite get into. Mainly because the style reminded me of "The Hives" or one of those types of bands for some reason. Anyway, I know I can't be the only one loving this. How are the rest of you NIN fans recieving it? For everyone else who wants to give it a chance, I'll list recommended songs on the disk to check out (aka: my favorties): :)

01. All the love in the World
02. You know who you are?
03. The Collector
04. The hand that feeds
06. Everyday is exactly the same
08: Only
11. The line begins to Blur
12. Beside you in time
13. Right where it belongs <--- Amazing. lyrically, musically... everything. This is this albums "Hurt" imo.

It's a pretty solid album, I never understood why it seems to get so much hate from fans... but then again I'm not familiar with NIN's discography so I had no idea what to expect when I first listened.

But I like it regardless. Not AOTY material, but still really good.

I can definitely say that the 'ruff' mix of The Hand that Feeds is superior to the album version. It's on the Japanese import. Really nice. :)

Nice. I'll have to check that version out. Have you heard the bonus track from the Euro release? I think it's called "Home".

It reminded me of "Downward Spiral" without the edge to it. It doesn't have the replayability that 'The Fragile' had either. Sorry.

It's not even in the same league of Downward Spiral.

I disagree. It's just different. Just like Pretty Hate Machine is different from The Fragile and Downward Spiral. They are all amazing in their own right. Just much different from each other. :)

I find myself playing All the love in the World, Hand that feeds, Only and Every Day Is Exactly the Same a lot, and I play the other tracks a lot less so.

I totally dig this album and it reminds more of pretty hate machine(my favorite) than the trash that was the fragile.

Also my favorite and I definately see the connection. As for The Fragile, I have to say buried in all the random instrumentals there are some great tunes as well.

is there any way to legally get this song other than buy the import?

and the dualdisc surround mix is great. I listen to it as often as I can.

People that say NiN is "weaksauce" obviously don't appreciate the artist that Trent is. With Teeth is probably one of their best albums musically as opposed to 'Downward Spiral' 'Pretty Hate Machine' etc. Those albums were good, but they don't hold a candle to the thought process of w/ Teeth.

With Teeth required thought process? A retard with a fisher price keyboard could have easily come up with the lyrics and beats for that album :lol :lol

i love with teeth. i'm happier he made a slightly less aggressive album that was more honest, than pretend to still be 'angry' and depressed and make downward spiral pt.2 .

Btw, I failed to mention that my opinion of this album seemed to go way up after I seen NIN live a few months ago. I started listening to the album a lot more after that and it just grew on me. Many of the songs I thought were "ok" were fucking AMAZING live. It's was probably the best show I've ever been to and nothing sort of inspiring as a musician.

Gantz- There is a lot more to the music then you seem to think. If you could create anything even remotely comaparable I'd be impressed. Somehow I doubt you could though. Some of the songs may have a simple beat, but there is much more that goes into making it complete then that. Tons of layers of sound. Lots of depth.

Wow, sounds like another KMFDM fan whose pissed off. :lol

I'm not sure what to think of With Teeth yet. Initially I liked it and then it wore out quick and I thought, "Wow this actually god awful." And now, months later I'm like this isn't that bad I dig some tunes. But I really have to give it a few more listens (when I'm up for it) to determine my opinion. I still don't really care for "The Downward Spiral" that much - I'm kind of in the same mindframe with that. The Fragile is amazing to me though and Pretty Hate Machine I consider to be simply good.

I'm not musician so I don't care but I know when to admit when my favorite music artists lose their edge. :lol

same here - the only band that could inspire me to sit in a plane for 20 hours to see them live. :D saw the two brixton shows (13/14 july) this year and they were incredible. i'd already seen them live at the 2000 big day out in perth and sydney but a 'proper' show is so much better.

interesting, cos for me, with teeth feels more focused than any of his other stuff. less complex, for sure, but it's like he's stripped back all the layers and still retained (and built upon) the NIN sound. i can also appreciate how he's not just randomly singing 'woe is me' lyrics and being all dramatic.

Why should anyone appreciate a shitty artist?

Trent peaked with the new instrumentals on Still. He's wasting his potential brilliance on this faux-industrial pop-metal trash that he makes for the kids. Until he gets over his insecurities with public criticism, he'll never make more of those awesome instrumentals and will instead stick with this generic rock so he keeps the majority happy.

And yeah, regardless of your opinion of any of Trent's albums, his live shows are incredible. Every song gets a new life.

Reznor has never been better.

WITH TEETH is amazing.

My personal favorites:

-ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD
-YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE?
-THE HAND THAT FEEDS
-LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH
-EVERY DAY IS EXACTLY THE SAME
-ONLY
-SUNSPOTS
-THE LINE BEGINS TO BLUR
-RIGHT WHERE IT BELONGS

Their last best song IMO was THE FRAGILE before this came out.

You guys have to hear this on DualDisc before you can truly appreciate the album.
