ohhh lots of people having issue on PC. game just crashing on start up and freezes on loading.

I was having a similar problem initially last night. The crashes happened when changing the framerate. And when you toggled properly the framerate dips tremendously in-game. The recommendation here is to toggle to the desired rate, close out the game and reboot.

It runs fine otherwise, but that was my issue on the crashing.

Ratings are weird, if its in it's own league for combat how is it an 8? Is it a case of slapped on shitty story that gets in the way? Isn't the target audience in it for the combat? I miss the days when scores had breakdowns for reasons like this.

That said, this probably isn't something I would usually play, but given the praise for its core gameplay, I may try it after Outer Worlds 2 and before Metroid.

Verdict

When it comes to combat, there are few games I'd consider to even be in the same ballpark as Ninja Gaiden 4. It is quite simply the most fun I've had with a 3D action game since Devil May Cry 5. Its disappointing story, bland level design, and uneven boss battles certainly put a damper on the package as a whole, but they haven't stopped me from continuously coming back for more all the same. Blemishes and all, this is the best pure action game since Hi-Fi Rush, and hopefully it doesn't take another 13 years for the next one.

Not sure about others, but I love cheap, not so deep, cliche stories like in Ninja Gaiden.

Now that I think about it, Dead or Alive too has a "story" as dumb as it gets, but characters are simply good looking, have good voice actors, and overall are fun and charismatic, so you just get into all of that mayhem.

Same could be said about Tekken as well.

They phoned in Ryu's sections. His sections are backtracking/repeats of the new kids levels, as are his bosses. The bosses don't even switch up for him mechanically. Even worse, Ryu's classic weapons are DLC? lmfao

That's enough for me to move this to a deep sale. Shouldn't have gotten Platinum involved IMO. I hate the new protag, and he gets all the cool shit.

To know if this is greatest action game or not? Thats very subjective.

The points are based for that type/genre. You're comparing a 2D side scrolling action platform to a 3D action-adventure game.

I only lol'd because F1 2025 has essentially one car with multiple liveries. When talking about vehicle visuals it isn't even in the same stratosphere to GT7. I have F1 2025 on PS5 Pro, and it can look great, but that's usually at night time. GT7 has a few ropey looking tracks, but when it's at its best, there aren't many racing games that look better. There are one or two on PC that do though. Forza Horizon games have stunning visuals, but again, the cars lack the detail of GT games.

Papi, you can rebind/customize EVERY button in this game, just scroll to the right on the control schemes page.

Personally, I've assigned block to R1 (always used it like this on PS), and dash to R2 as to not fuck up my left analogue stick (i.e stick drift).

Relative to what? Other games? Two different games can have the exact same score for entirely different reasons. But if that is your rationale for determing that a game is "hardly amazing" then obviously we have entirely different views on reviews. I'm saying it the correct way here for myself. I learned Japanese during high school and my martial arts training, so I am gonna say it as it should be natively. Less about being a weeb, more about saying it correctly.
