Nintendo : buy Mario Kart 8 on the eShop or retail, get a free game

Looks like I'll be getting Wii Party U since I own the other three digitally already. I was hoping NA would get Sonic for free too, but I'm grateful for the free game :D

Excellent promo from Nintendo. I was going to take a "wait for used" approach to MK8 since I like it but not THAT much but this promo is enough to push me into buying new. I've wanted to pick up WWHD and this is the kind of price I've been waiting for.

Of course they don't. You don't own Wii Party U.

This is a fantastic deal. Mario Kart 8+ Pikmin 3 for the price of one, count me in.

Nintendo really knows how to pull out the big guns when they're up against the ropes that's for sure.

Not that I know of.
Aren't the download codes country specific too?

I thought that's how people could buy stuff from the eShop from another country?

I'm not sure why it would matter that download codes are country specific. As it is now, there's no Club Nintendo in Scandinavian countries. So it if is possible to make a Club Nintendo account like you were based in let's say the UK than Nintendo would think you live in the UK and send you a code after you registered MK8 on that UK Club Nintendo account.

Don't you just make a account on the UK Club Nintendo website?
Wouldn't hurt for you to try.

Wait so I can get the refurbished Wii U from Nintendo for 200 and Mario Kart for 60 and I will get Wind Waker for free?

I'm in the states.
Now I have to decide if I want NSMBU digital (I own it physical) or Wii Party U

Is Wii Party U any good?

I was kinda hoping for a bigger selection for NA, as I own all of the games physically. Although my copy of WW HD is still sealed so I could probably get the digital version and keep it sealed. Eh, c'est la vie

This has me very tempted to pick this up at launch (Was thinking about holding off on it). Although my Wii U's hard drive is currently full, can anyone recommend a cheap external hard drive to add more space?

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Well, that's a surprise.

I already own all of the free NA games, but I'll sell my physical copy.

Yes, this is very close to what I'm doing. Get a few refurb Wiimote/nunchucks with your WiiU order, they're $20 a piece.

Go to your nearest electronics/general purchase store and get whatever's on sale. Or Newegg. Not much to differentiate them these days.

Damn, I have all the NA games already. Looks like somebody is going to get a free game.

For those on the fence, Wii Party U with friends has been one of the most played wii u games at my house. Lots of really cool ideas thrown around in it.

Awesome, I love Club Nintendo so many free retail and classic games over the last few years just from buying games like normal.

So many choices, I'm thinking Pikmin 3 or Wonderful 101 (didn't really like the demo).

Dat feel when you already own all 3 games.

At least you didn't just buy Pikmin 3 less than 3 days ago... DEM FEEELS MANNN!

Just called Nintendo to just to see if I had any chance to return it for eshop credit back and nope :(. No harm in trying though, hopefully Wii Party U is fun since I already got 2 wiimotes at my place. Wish US would have atleast Sonic Lost World or Nintendo Land from the EU choices haha.

I can't believe the Nintendo Online Store is down until May 9th.

$20 says when it comes back refurbished Wii U's are no longer $200

Literally any external HDD under 2 TB should work, I got this one for less than $40, but I also had to get a Y-cable to power it.

My advice would be look around and find a cheap price b/c unless you're a digital only (Don't know why with Nintendo's account policy) you won't need anything too big

I also just realized that by registering Mario Kart 8 with Club Nintendo, I'll have just enough points this year to go platinum. Sweet.

That's a pretty nice and unexpected deal. I just bought Zelda a few days ago, so I'm gonna go with Monster Hunter. What's the download size for that?
