Nintendo Direct 5/17 4PM CEST, 7AM PST, focus on First Party Wii U Summer Titles

Can I post it? I think so!!

Way too late.

There's always some sort of surprise in these Directs. Last time was alttp2, this time will be about something WiiU, I bet on F-Zero. Then, they'll announce GBA VC first titles to be soon available, probably starting with Metroid Fusion to build the right climax for Metroid 5 reveal at E3.

ah, so it's just another 3DS Direct with some old Wii U information peppered in.

Nope. Do you remember the other times Europe and Japan had specific 3DS Directs, while America had 3DS & Wii U Directs? In the end, they were basically the same, so 3DS Directs, with just some Wii U infos in the American one. This time it's the opposite: it's a Wii U Direct in its core.

Surely they are rushing games out at this point?

Rushing? Jesus wept, Pikmin has been in development for years and years. Retro's last game was 3 years ago, as was the last 3D Mario. Skyward Sword was 2 years ago. What they are doing is the opposite of rushing, they are taking a fucking age to release these games. In terms of AAA console games Nintendo has been AWOL since 2011. If they were rushing Pikmin would have been released months ago.

I'm guessing

W101, Earthbound, WW HD info/release dates
New info on G&W and Pikmin
New 3DS XL colors for NA
Mario Golf release date
Virtual Console sizzle reals / sales
Pokemon Rumble U info

Nothing too exciting

Remember last Direct when everyone was saying "keep your hype low, nothing new". Nintendo Drops Bombs Every Single Time.

Doubt we'll see anything major as its focusing on Spring and Summer titles. Maybe (And hopefully) they announce some new stuff but I can see them waiting on that a little longer.

I dunno, if the timing of this is to shit in Microsoft's cereal, it damn well better be about more than release dates.

On the other hand, I kind of wonder if Nintendo even knows there's a Microsoft conference, much less cares, and this really is just release dates. Which will do nothing to combat their image but at least it will, like, put games out there. For once.

Give me Wonderful 101, godfuckingdamnit.

Lol, I don't understand people who say, "don't expect anything new!" when every single Direct in the last 5 months has had at least one new announcement; some with more than one new announcement. Just because E3 is around the corner? I don't think Nintendo will save a whole lot for E3.

Not expecting megatons tomorrow, it seems Nintendo are differentiating between this Direct and the pre-E3 one.

Lots of Pikmin info, release date for Wonderful 101, Virtual Console discussion and not much else Wii U-related this time.

For 3DS, Mario Golf, Animal Crossing (again), Oracles on VC, bunch of eShop games, "Luigi's Mansion 2, Castlevania and Lego City out now", reminder about Link to the Past 2 and Mario & Luigi.

I think Nintendo would be wise to highlight the amount of Kickstarter titles heading to the eShops, highlighting Indie digital presence.

Probably we Europeans will finally get a release date for Scribblenauts Unlimited :P

I don't see it happening but, a unified account system a short time before the Xbox announcement would be nice.....#dreaming :)

I expect mostly stuff we've known about.
