Even before that Youtube XL on the browser was pretty shitty. Used it once or twice and never went back. It was terrible.
Did anyone get NightSky? What's the 3D like? I've been wanting to play this game for awhile now on PC but there was talk of an HD update coming so I held off. But I read a good review on Nintendo Life about it so I'm sold, I'd just like to know if the 3D is good.
Oh God, this is going to play out like KevinCow vs. Segata isn't it?
The game is glitchy as hell. The fireball is glitchy, I got stuck in the ceiling twice during my last playthrough, and the enemies are pretty erratic too.
Here's my review and here's Santiako's review from the 3DS Game Reviews/Recommendations/Condemnations Thread. What's wrong with Liberation Maiden? The video on the shop looks pretty decent...
From my review linked above:Can anyone tell me what the controls are in Liberation Maiden? The 1UP review says it's analog to control and touch pad to fire?
UGH.
I know Layton will be either nigh impossible to find retail here, or it will be ~45 EUR regardless. Considering getting an NTSC 3ds though.
It's very subtle. Just like every other Nicalis game on the eShop.
I sort of wish the Opera partnership had happened this gen instead of last. They made two decent browsers with terribly low resolutions and RAM on the DS and Wii and they could have made something great on the 3DS and truly fantastic on the Wii U with all that horsepower.
I deal with this shit daily waiting for the bus. cant see anything on my 3ds cause of the sun.Played a Wee bit of NightSky on the bus, but the sun shinning through the window made it hard to play at times. But from what I played I loved it, can't wait to check it out more later after work.
its more the smallest smudge on the screen looks awful, I try and wipe it away with my cleaning cloth and only makes it worse. Its alot better now with the XL then the original, but its still a pain.I deal with this shit daily waiting for the bus. cant see anything on my 3ds cause of the sun.
first world problems.
Ugh, wait? No left-handed mode? Not even the general buttons-replace-stick sort that games generally have? Well, guess I won't be purchasing that one then. Even if I could get it to work with my right hand, it'd just feel awkward and sloppy the whole time.Relax, I was just surprised since all of my playthroughs were smooth and I played SML1 a lot. I guess I was just lucky.
Still, I feel that calling it ''glitchy as hell'' is a bit hyperbolic. It's not like Mario sinks into the ground every 5 minutes.

From my review linked above:
''You use the slide pad to move, the L button to strafe (you either hold it or press it to toggle, set this in the options) and the stylus to aim and fire. You have two weapons (you get the second one in stage 2). For the first one, you move your reticule over enemies to automatically lock onto them and then lift the stylus to fire. If you keep targeting an enemy you will do a more powerful charge attack. The second one is a laser that automatically fires where your reticule is.
There's no left handed mode, BUT it might be easier to control than Kid Icarus; since the first weapons locks onto enemies, you can just kind of move your reticule over them, you don't need as much precision. If you are at least a little bit skilled with your right hand, you should give it a try.''

I'm not good with words so I'll just be brief with Liberation Maiden. The god damn game control is fucking awful. Why the fuck did they go with this control scheme? This is no Sin and Punishment or Kid Icarus, the control scheme is extremely awkward, I thought the game is supposed to be fast pace but no, it's tank control, in the sky, with no camera control, in free roaming map.
I'm the same, I just played it for long enough to beat the first area and I didn't have any issues with the controls. Heck felt abit better then Kid Icarus to be honest. Also as the game seems to be designed to be played in shorter bursts I don't think I'll have the wrist issues I did with KI.Once again, after reading gaf I wonder If I have a super power or something, I got used to the controls pretty fast. I was going to post how good the game is..
(and I'm playing on hard, and already beat 2 stages)

Liking the game soo far, seems fun and the story seems just soo over the top thats its awesome. I have no idea whats going on, why are plants growing again?

So it does support HTML5 video, heh? That porn curtain will get a lot of use, I see.Good grief, took long enough. YouTube stopped working on my Wii browser over a year ago, videos crash after about two minutes, it's pathetic. But who cares at this point when the Wii U comes out the week before with a browser that already supports YouTube on HTML5? Still nice to have as an option though I guess at least on 3DS.
Edit, source. All hail HTML5! Die Flash!

I got a Game Over once, and it threw me back to the title screen. When I clicked on Story Mode again, I had the option to start a New Game or Continue in the stage I lost. Can you SAVE in the middle of Liberation Maiden, or do I have to finish the whole thing in one sitting?
The manual doesn't mention that, nor does the menu... I just want to know if quitting loses all my progress.
tbh, I'd sort of forgotten how jank the Micronis made NES port of GnG was. It reminds me a bit if nicer pre-NES computer stuff, I'm sort of regretting the buy now and thinking CVTA is probably the better game. :/Who the hell is bashing GnG? CVA, sure, but GnG?!

Isn't it funny that Two Brothers looks so much like a Game Boy game and yet it won't be playable on GB's distant successor?
On another note, I bought Shinobi for Game Gear and was amazed by all the emulation options; changing game resolution on the fly, button remapping, rapid fire, original performance or full speed, optional blur (to emulate the original look?) and even different border colors when playing in 1:1 mode. Nintendo's emulation seems so lacking in comparison...

Yea, I have to wonder if all of that effort is partly to blame for them not getting more than 3 GG games on VC in 1.5 years.
Did we even get Columns yet? Lol.
I just want Wonder Boy the Dragons Trap from the GG, if Sega bring that out I'll never complain the lack of content from them on the VCI'm guessing it probably has more to do with the other ones selling badly and/or Sega being strapped for cash, which is a shame because it's gonna take forever for them to get to the few good GG games like Master of Darkness, Shining Force, etc.
But...but Shining Force: Sword of Hajya.I just want Wonder Boy the Dragons Trap from the GG, if Sega bring that out I'll never complain the lack of content from them on the VC
I would assume with the new ESRB rating process for downloadable games (ie: making them free/cheap), we're going to see A LOT more Virtual Console games that we might not have seen before. The cost of getting individual ratings (because it was not cost effective) probably held back a lot of games from getting out there.Yea, I have to wonder if all of that effort is partly to blame for them not getting more than 3 GG games on VC in 1.5 years.

Taking that cost away removes a BIG hurdle for the future of Virtual Console. Hopefully.
I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed more here, or I missed it, or the indie developers cheering about it on my Twitter feed had bad information (though I saw it mentioned half a dozen times last week, so).
