Nintendo Downloads - October 2013

I have no problem with slow trickle VC.

I just wish the slow trickle were with games that have substance and content in them.

I don't think many people would be pissed if they were releasing 1-2 good games a week. It's the 0-1-2 awful games every week that's making this service the biggest joke in gaming.

I love how the GB Megaman games were announced for VC in the US first, yet Japan has gotten II and III in the span of three weeks with IV following this upcoming week, while US hasn't gotten anything yet.

Just a heads up, Microsoft still has that asinine 'no ports' rule on Xbox One, even with indie games.

NL: Do you have a target release window for FORCED?

SG: Not really, and that’s extremely annoying. It’s actually because of Microsoft, the Xbox One requirement is that you’ve not released on another platform before, so what we’re doing is that we have to port it for PS4, Wii U and Xbox One simultaneously, and release it on all three platforms at the same time; that’s annoying because we could in theory release it on Wii U in January or something like that. But now it might be later because we have to do all the porting work on all of them at the same time instead of doing them one by one.

Like a fat kid at lunch time, Microsoft is holding up the damn line for everyone else.

Wii Party U is not on the list ...

I think the reason behind that may be because Wii Party U doesn't seem like it's going to release as a digital download outside of Japan. Not entire sure about this, but there hasn't been anything suggesting NOA/NOE will be releasing it digitally.

Doesn't the retail version come with a Wiimote+? That might be why.

What the fuck?

Of all games, this type of casual party game is exactly what benefits from a touch-of-a-button download version. I mean, hardcore games you stick in your system and play through and then never play again. But this game will be played for years to come. I don't want to have to take the disc in and out every single time for the next few years.

Wasn't Deus Ex going to be 49.99 at retail? Or that was just for US, with no news at all for Europe?

Exactly, if you have party with some friends you want to have all the party games easily accessible, switching from one to another

Only the US price was discussed. 39 is not that outrageous in the end. Without Watch Dogs this year I might pick it up.

Hmm... that's really strange... and doesn't make much sense!

Nope, just the US. Still about 5-10€ more expansive than the other consoles though.

I may be misremembering, but I think Club Nintendo only had one version of Intend To Buy for Wii Party U.

It's really odd they're not planning on releasing Wii Party U digital, considering having a mandatory non-Gamepad controller isn't a restriction for a game not to be on the eShop (as evidenced by the two Just Dance games already available and the upcoming Wii Fit U.

When were NES games 4 Euro on the 3DS VC?

At least Wario's Woods is a late NES game (IIRC the top loading NES launched in Japan with it...and a cartridge re-release of Zelda 1).

Nintendo really love junk NES games, don't they?

It's really strange. There's drip-drip-drip, and there's crap-crap-crap. It's really fishy in my opinion, and I'm convinced there's something happening soon. They released a bunch of cool stuff during the first few weeks then the quality really went down the gutter.

Well, the good news is we haven't seen a 50Hz VC game in ages in Europe ;)

AA5 is mine.

I just have to beat AA3, AAI, and AA4 before I even start AA5, tho.

Don't worry and take your time. Ace Attorney are games to savour, not rush through. Don't hesitate to play other games in-between, so as not to get burned out.

Enjoy this wonderful series! :)

Maybe these incredibly old NES games will be offered as rewards on club nintendo

3DS Miiverse with unified accounts and crossbuy VC. BELIEVE.

Oh who am I kidding

I won't lie, after discovering it on Animal Crossing, I wouldn't mind Clu Clu Land...
on the 3DS....
...if it's a Club Nintendo reward...

Still waiting on SMB3. Still a shame they didn't do a 3D Classics version of that.

I will probably never get to buy Cave Story + on my 3DS. I'll have to resort to illegal means once they are available, thanks to the incompetency of Nicalis.

3DS Miiverse with unified accounts and crossbuy VC. BELIEVE.

Oh who am I kidding

And cloud saving. Don't forget cloud saving.

To each his own, but I actually like having some of these old games on VC. Being able to save high scores is a good reason to upgrade from carts.

Gasp. Now you've done it. Since you've uncovered Reggie's secret master plan to enslave us all, I'm gonna have to silence you.... forever!...

Oh who am I kidding

I hope it's something along those lines, but I know it's more wishful thinking than anything.

So is no one outside of JPN getting the Sonic demo?

Guess not. *sigh*

I would really have liked to test a demo before deciding on Sonic :(

The Wii U VC. Oh my god. I cannot believe it. I honestly don't even know why Nintendo launched it. Other than Earthbound, absolutely no effort has been put into it. None. GBA games were announced back in January. N64 games were announced shortly after. Are they ever coming? Ever? What is going on? Why did the Wii VC launch with five consoles represented and the Wii U VC only has NES and SNES games a year into the system's life?

I....just....uggghhh....why.

Ace Attorney makes up for another mercilessly shite week, but next week we won't have a big release, and the sparsity and pathetic nature of this download service shall once again be laid bare.

Sega is MIA and Konami is making damn sure it erases all evidence Hudson was a thing.
