Shao said:Don't know why everyone is complaining, I think the coloured DS are very nice pieces of kit and have no idea how they would re-design it to make it better. Only thing is maybe make the top half of the clam slimmer as it is kinda chunky.

The same goes for Dynasty Warriors DS.
Zeo said:People, stop with the DS redesign crap.
It is NOT happening ANY time soon. At the earliest, next fall, if it happens at all. It's selling too good right now for them to do a random redesign.
It isn't really uncomfortable anyway. I don't get the complaints. I can see people complaining about the ridges on the corners, but that's about it.

This sounds fantastic. I know there's touchscreen haters out there, but if they leave out the d-pad alternative, it forces them to make a playable game with this control method. I really hope they pull it off, because that sounds fun as hell.Spazbiohaz said:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH you tap the touch screen to dribble the flick it to pass. HAHAHAHA so classic. oh man.
Ponn01 said:It is if you have smallish fingers and can't comfortably hold it in your hands and touch the screen at the same time. That's why i'm wishing for a redesign.

Looks like Lunar DS except good.

My guess - spring 2006 we'll see a price cut on the DS to $99. Around late summer/early fall, when the majority who were on the fence got a DS after the cut, they reveal the new design and launch world wide fall 2006 at $149 while still continuing old one.
You'll have two choices then - buy the old DS for a cheap price or the new (sexy ipod looking?) design for $149. Many people will re-buy it and others like me will get one for the first time with a slew of awesome games. My plan is to just buy one next-gen console (rev or ps3) fall 2006 and the other one later, and this is where the DS comes in.![]()
Only thing I have so far is that the environments are full 3D (in that they are multi-layer, not just pseudo 3D like FFXI) and they are using Havok for physics. I should really scan the Famitsu interview for more info...Farore said:Yay!![]()
Any SD4 news?

Well, there's still the issue of a hard drive.CVXFREAK said:With that in mind, I wonder if Square Enix will now bring FFXI to Revolution. They've already got Crystal Chronicles in the works, and I'm sure the no-fee Wifi Connection was the main factor in keeping SE from making an announcement. The 360 version sure as hell isn't going to do much in Japan.
Graphics don't have much an impact on such things; it's not like one player has to send fully polygon data to the others. What matters is how much game data must be shared, and how fast it must get there and back to play reasonably well. Requirements should vary by game.Spencerr said:<333
... I wonder if I'll be able to steal my neighbors internet with it.
Also, I wonder what speeds will be necessary. DS isn't that graphic heavy or anything... think if worst came to worst I could get away with 56k?
I could always just buy a dongle and use it on public computers.
Pfffft. This time last year nobody was tripping over themselves to provide the experience to those who don't read Japanese.drohne said:some of the ds exuberance around here does seem a little feigned! i mean, this time last year you wouldn't be tripping over each other to buy the game about the anime lawyer who points at people...

Whatevers!
The DS has had a "bright future" since before launch when tons of games were announced for it. And look where it is now. -_-; I can't get excited over more announced games that won't be out for another year or longer when stuff announced last year isn't even out.
Lindsay said:Phoenix Wright - bargain bin it.
Mario Kart DS - got the defintive Mario Kart on GBA
Animal Crossing - got definative version on GC, still play daily
Black & White - looked foward to it on the DC..it never came... years later on an inferior system why would I want it?
Oh my God hellooooooooooooo. How can Mario Kart on GBA and Animal Crossing on GC be the definitive versions when they're not even online!?!?! Metroid Prime Pinball is looking good, FYI. And Mario & Luigi 2 looks nice, too. I'm not even going to comment on the other games you've listed.Lindsay said:Metroid Prime Pinball - you'd think people would've learned after Mario Pinball..
Mario Kart DS - got the defintive Mario Kart on GBA
Mario & Luigi 2 - no interest
Animal Crossing - got definative version on GC, still play daily
If you're not happy with the upcoming / announched games for DS, you will never be. just sell the damn thing if you can't find any games for it that you like.Lindsay said:blah blah blah
