So young. Still hope left in him.

You will die.
Hahaha, this will be my first E3 as a member on GAF as well. I've lurked long enough to see the demise of many juniors during E3. I'm definitely going to be cautious.

There's no way a Mario would be ready to show so soon. We might get one in 2016 though.
Hopefully it'll be SM3DW2. I really really liked that game. It deserves a SMG2-like sequel.

You know what I find odd? Comparisons to this game

never come up.

I made that comparison last E3.

I still don't understand how the game is going to work assuming it is "Xenoblade HD," so I've basically given up speculation until they decide to explain the non-combat gameplay mechanics.

Probably in the minority here, but I'd love it if Mario's next, big, proper HD 3D outing on WiiU was Mario Sunshine 2. (Or just an up-port of Mario Sunshine.) Summer's just around the corner and that game's a perfect fit for the season...

The next evolution in 3D Mario will not be announced at this E3, way too early in the development cycle.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if one saw either an HD release of Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 or Sunshine for 2014.

According to Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GC) sold over 3.07 million, yet its re-release on Wii U sold over 1 million. An impressive feat.

The tools are there, now its up to Nintendo :D

In my veins.

It should be pretty simple.
The combat is much like Xenoblade. Then you have your mechs. The mechs come in different varieties but you can customize them. They can also be damaged.
The mechs can be used in and out of combat (though it's not clear if you really do need fuel to use them or not) and can be used to travel quickly and fly.
You have at least one major town (though there are likely more).

For online, it's probably drop in/drop out with friends. You can have people come in and help you in fights and stuff, maybe even play the entire main story with you. Or it's only for specific missions.

How do mechs work with AI? You hop in a mech and fly off, but there aren't more around. Same with friends, you jump in one and leave, what happens? Roam the world individually?

There are also questions like how quick travel would work between players, presumably everyone would get the same locations as the "host." But that also brings up the question of spoilers. I'm sure this kind of stuff has already been solved in Soma Bringer, but I've never played it.

With AI it's easy. When you're in the mech, they either follow or, when you're flying, they "disappear" like in Xenoblade.
With players, it's probably similar. You can follow and you get your own perspective, but the leader is in charge. And since fighting alone is often a good way to get killed, it's better to stay with the leader.

I think there will be a new 2D Mario for 3DS announced at E3. Has the NSMB team been working on anything since NSMB U?

I've got everything crossed that Ninty will finally announce a Metroid Prime for the U.

I'm not against the idea of a 2d side scroller on the 3DS, but I really, really want one for the U.

Seriously, is Nintendo gonna have a conference or not?
They will not have a regular press conference where press etc. are invited to some kind of venue. Whether the Digital Event will be as a regular press conference I don't know.

Actually, if it's like last year, they will have a press conference at E3. It will just be a rehash of what we all heard from the Direct, though, with maybe a surprise or two (WiiFit Trainer).

Hard to say. However, producer Takashi Tezuka, was busy finishing up Yoshi's New Island. Another producer, Hiroyuki Kimura, wrapped up development on Pikmin 3 last year. Both guys served as producers on New SMB Wii, New SMB 2 and New SMBU. Hiroyki, also worked on New SMB DS.

Windwaker HD was completed in half a year, it would be a no-brainer for Nintendo to re-release a classic.

This. Surprised we haven't heard about another one yet. I'm strongly expecting one at E3. As for which game? Who knows. Luigi's Mansion? Metroid Trilogy (3 games could take more time though)? Galaxy 1/2 HD?

There is no MH inspiration whatsoever. You're seeing things that aren't there.

It's no surprise that people are picking up Monster Hunter vibes when they're shown trailers and videos of what appears to be multiplayer fights against huge monsters. Nintendo could put it all to rest if they'd actually talk about what the game is about instead of just releasing trailers that raise more questions than answers. It's been over a year since its announcement and we don't even know what the name of the game is.

I've got everything crossed that Ninty will finally announce a Metroid Prime for the U.

Have Retro hinted at having two teams? Linkedin lists them as having between 50-200 members. Which could be enough for two teams depending on how big DKC's staff was.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Digital Event is like a Direct, but with, uh, more bells and whistles. And more showmanship.

Welcome aboard ladies and gentlemen. To prevent overcrowding, it is now necessary for some of you to sit on each other's laps. The conductors will be along shortly to assign partners. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The question is... we are more than 30 days onroad so are there wagons with bedrooms? ;)

First year I'm genuinely not hyped for a Nintendo E3 conference/video/whatever. Hopefully that means it will be awesome since it seems every year I get really excited they completely disappoint me.

I'm probably less excited this year than I've ever been. Which means I'm still very excited, because normally I'm a damn nutcase, but I think they have a lot to show and prove to me before I go the rest of the year being excited about Nintendo products. Yeah they'll show Zelda and I'll go ballistic, I'm not out to bullshit here, but I'm really hoping they get a lot of their shit together and start killing it.

I'll make another prediction. Miyamoto will show off his new IP (no release date) and the protagonist of that game will be a playable character in SSB4. guarantee

For sure we know we will see Zelda Wii U so that alone is enough to excite me. But I'm also really excited for the 3ds line up because we really don't know what to expect going forward. There could be new hardware, some great first party surprises, or...not much at all.

We don't know what a digital event is. Some people have pointed out that Nintendo was careful not to call it a direct. Nintendo Life had a good article on Nintendo's E3 plans.

Grazie.

I Hope this year we will see a new Starfox on WiiU (I can not stop thinking about it, since I've seen peppy in Steel Diver lol).

Why is this years hype train so plain, what happened to explosions, gold and giant iwata faces.

It takes time, it'll evolve as E3 approaches. Kind of surprised it wasn't the Bowser train, though.

The background will disappear and turn into the vortex from the ending cinematic for Super Mario Galaxy with Reggie's face in the center of it. Last year's hype train will be visible in the background being sucked in. The Bowser train will be flying alongside this year's with people clinging to the sides... It'll be glorious...
