Nintendo E3 plans detailed

I'd be satisfied with this plus another 2018 surprise to wet the appetite, if we assume Metroid is a 2018 game as well.

KHIII/FFVIIre ain't happening so I keep my expectations set at seeing more of Project Octopath Traveler. That game looks pretty hype as it stands.

So the big third party game is Project Octopath Traveler? Why would KH3 not happen?

Idk I want to talk to Orgen again and see what he was hinting at. Unless it's some FFVIR or something.

Sorry guys I can't say where or how I got this. Take it as you will. From my work...

Lego Ninjago movie for NS, release dated for 06/10/17

Mario Odyssey Winter 2017 clearly stated, not Autumn, so could be November or December.

A Lego ninjago game to coincide with the movie?

Anyone know if the COD, Madden, and Battlefront II rumors are true?

Yep. I think we'll get a Smash 4 Port in Early 2018 (February-April range).

I also think it won't be at e3 because they won't want to potentially cannibalize their own sales with ARMS.

That's the exact kind of announcement you can drop in a September Nintendo Direct to give you something "new" to announce.

I think every game is interchangeable except Pokémon, Mario Odyssey and Mario + Rabbids. Mario Rabbids looks like August-September. Pokémon October and Odyssey is November. FE Warriors would be August or September too.

Smash could be this year or early 2018. Retros game could be this year or early 2018. Pikmin 4 could be this year or 2018. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 could be this year or 2018.

So we all assume:

definite:

Mario
FE Warriors
Xenoblade 2
Splatoon 2
Zelda dlc

Possibly:
Pokemon
Rabbids Mario
COD
star Wars
And additional third party support
Close with Metroid?

Does anyone know if PSP3 is real and going to be announced as Sony new hardware at e3? Since they are announcing something new I guess?

I can definitely see Kingdom Hearts happening because there's a freaking Xbox one version.

Like the series has never been on Xbox but somehow 3 is on there. And they haven't even tried to port the collections on the Xbox.

So if Xbox can get the game then Nintendo can as well because the franchise has been on Nintendo hardware so there's definitely an audience. Its also on Unreal Engine 4 so it would be a foolish mistake to not port it on Switch.

Yes- not saying its likely, but given SE's support so far, the engine, and the fact that its multiplatform, KH3 certainly wouldn't shock me.

I still see no reason to release Smash this year as we already have ARMS and Splatoon for multiplayer eccentric games.

I see Nintendo releasing Smash next year as this year is already stacked in terms of first party games.

No I'm not making any guesses about any "big third party game." I'm just saying what I expect SquareEnix to show for Switch, if they indeed show much of anything at E3 for Switch. They might just wait til later if the game is far off from release. As far as I'm aware we haven't got any word on how far along in development Project Octopath is, have we?

Edit: I don't know why they don't release World of Final Fantasy for Switch. There was already a VITA version, it works great for handhelds, and it'd have good crossover with Nintendo's Pokemon loving handheld playing base. They should just release World of Final Fantasy (with two surprise Pokemon to capture in a special bonus exclusively for Switch), it's a good game.

No- I'm guessing its pretty far off and seems like something more likely to be shown around TGS time.

I expect Retro's game there. It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo places their announcements. No matter what a game we have no clue about should be the final game announcement. I have no clue about the Sony hardware.

Yep.

-Switch supports UE4
-It's powerful enough
-Ugh it's even coming to the Xbone One....lol
-Square said they want to support the Nintendo Switch and they are proving it
-Square wants to make more money on multiplatform now. Switch is the big new portable in Japan. Why would they ever skip that opportunity for more money from Japan?

I can agree with this. I can see a Mario + Rabbids for August, FE Warriors for September, Pokemon Stars for October, Super Mario Odyssey for November and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for December to finish the year out (first party games only). Then start February 2018 off with a Smash/Retro's game.

They may not announce a KH3 or a FFVIIR at E3 for Nintendo, but if they were real they could come next year or whenever since those games don't even have a release year lol! They should bring back Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles to Switch at least.

I'd have to go back 2 e3's to look it up, but wasn't there a strong implication that FF7R was a timed exclusive for Sony? I can't imagine them even mentioning it in regards to another console, be it Microsoft or Nintendo or even PC anytime soon. Seems like there's some money coming in from Sony there.

"Play it first on PlayStation 4" is the exact words they used. I mean I have no clue how this would work. They're breaking it up into 3 parts. Does that mean if it takes 6 years for all 3 parts to release on the PS4, then everyone else has to wait atleast 6 years to get the game? Or does it mean when the first part of the game releases, then 6 months - 1 year later the first part will release on other systems.

I'd guess they'd release each chapter 6+ months after PS4 version. That's usually how timed exclusives work, though I'm not sure we've seen a timed episodic exclusive.

But like 98% of the promotion of the game would be for Sony platforms even if it eventually comes to Switch. I wouldn't expect them on Nintendo's e3 shows for that.

Smash 4 Switch is a weird case. If you asked me a couple months ago, I would've said this year, but the push for ARMS as a fighting game makes me think Nintendo wouldn't want to overshadow it with Smash in the same year.

It will probably never show up at Nintendo's E3 conference, but Square will have to announce it at some point. If they do it prior to the first episode releasing on PS4 or after it releases on PS4 idk. I'm not sure how these things work.

I want my fuckin Animal Crossing

True fact: To this day I genuinely believe Animal Crossing is the worst "well designed" game I've ever played, yet I put in easily fifty to a hundred hours playing the first game. It was actively torturous to play, and I had to put in god knows how many untold hours playing the first game.

The reason?

Nintendo had all those damned NES games you could secure, effectively making the GCN Animal Crossing a compilation of sorts which at the time was pleasure to my ears. I spent agonizing endless hours upon endless hours playing a game in which the point is to communicate with barely intelligible animals who make you do their chores, just to set up the ultimate NES Arcade pad in that town.

So I guess the moral of this story is I would rather have my leg caught in a bear trap than see another Animal Crossing on Switch, but if they hid SNES games within it it'd be perfect for a handheld and it'd guaranteed six months straight solitary confinement as I arduously work toward unlocking them in this unholy certainly devised by the Devil himself videogame. I don't know whether I'd laugh or cry if it happened. It won't happen though considering a SNES Mini is coming :P

PSP3 rumors are some fanboys' daydreams. The only sources are some weird Job listings and random Chinese Sonyfanboy websites... Oh and Sony's patent, too.

I never 'got' animal's crossing

I gave it a shot with new leaf but... You live life? I do that already. Didn't really see any point or purpose

Were there any rumors about RE7 coming to the Switch? I vaguely remember seeing it being posted on GAF, but I can't be sure. Asking because I got the game for Steam a while back and it hitches up for a few seconds every minute on my 1060. Don't want to keep playing like that and I don't have any other consoles.

There was a trademark for 'cartridge version' of the game but Capcom apparently did that for every single RE games.

Director or Producer also said that they currently have no plans for Switch version.

Animal Crossing has no resemblance to real life.

Right it strips life of any of its wonderment and joy and distills into an endless torment wherein your whole purpose is the grind wheel of paying your bills and decorating utilizing any series of dead end, skill deprived jobs. Chores, really. It is like some even more horrific version of Pleasantville where conflict hardly exists so it is all the more unsettling and youre just missing your polka dot 1950s dress and apron (actually the game has those too).

Animals are soulless automatons who exist almost exclusively to give you chores or strip of gifts. Press A to pick up letter. Walk across town, press A to deliver. You get a peach carpet for your effort. Oh God make it stop why did you have to hide your NES games behind this gameplay! Why!

I get why people play it though, same reason people play those cookie clicker games.

The Sims actually has win states and requires some actual planning and skill behind your actions in order to succeed. In Animal Crossing your weeds might overgrow and Animals might creepily write they missed you. Pointless!

Mario +Rabbids isn't a first party published game and isn't going to exclude 2 months of releases in the holiday season.

I really don't think we know the holiday pieces yet. Because trust me FE Musou and Xenoblade 2 don't make sense as the vanguards of the first holiday season of a new Nintendo console. Those aren't unit sellers more or less support titles.

I forgot to say Mario + Rabbids won't be published by Nintendo. Not sure what you mean by "exclude 2 months of releases".

Of course we don't know the holiday pieces, but not every single game needs to be some 5+ million seller. The Switch should sell itself on being a good product alone and Nintendo can't even get enough out there. Pokemon and Super Mario will keep Switches off the shelves. Xenoblade 2 is big deal for RPG fans just like a third party game like Skyrim. We don't know the full lineup of first party and third party games. I didn't say this was everything. I was going by the rumored games.

Part of me thinks Smash Bros. is early 2018 but I could also see it releasing the same day Nintendo's paid online service launches. Having Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo Switch all available at the launch of the service would be pretty big.

Nintendo needs a flagship multiplayer title to launch their paid online service. That could be Smash, or it could be another game we don't know about. Smash makes a lot of sense.

What do people like about it most? Didn't get it
For me it's relaxing and the progression of your house, town, and collectables is satisfying. The time aspect adds another level to it as well. Plus, it's just a very charming game.

They absolutely need a first person shooter if they aren't gonna get it from third parties.

COD or Battlefront II will help with that, as well as Fifa, NBA, and maybe Madden?!

I want Nintendo to create new IPs wherever possible, but deep down i always hope they make an exception and remember Star Tropics exists :(

Yes, more people in StarTropicsGaf!

It's really a very interesting IP with a style and setting unlike anything else Nintendo has. Since it's such an old IP the gameplay could really be like anything. Mechanically it would basically be a new IP.

I always kinda wanted to see Next Level Games have a crack at it. They already previously revived Punch-Out!!, which, in a way, is StarTropics' older brother (Both were produced by Genyo Takeda and his R&D3/IRD team).

What would you want, like a "Nintendo" uncharted? I really like the idea of star tropics being redone(nebulous American only IP), but I'm not quite sure what kind of game it is or could be.

I want to see Nintendo really make a traditional JRPG. Other than earthbound series they've never done one. Mario rpg was made by square.

Well, if we're going by this, then technically Nintendo didn't exactly create Mother, either. Creatures and HAL Labs (who have both been heavily involved in the series' development) aren't owned by Nintendo.

Although...Mother 3 was co-developed by Brownie Brown, who exist today as 1-UP Studio and are owned by Nintendo.

Xenoblade...unless you mean turn based? There's a whole line of Mario RPG series.

I think he means turned based RPGs internally developed by Nintendo. Mother's been developed by mostly outside affiliates (as previously mentioned), as are the Mario RPGs (Square, Intelligent Systems, AlphaDream, and now Ubisoft apparently).

It is true that none of Nintendo's internal development studios or their subsidiaries have done a major traditional RPG...actually, is Miitopia turned based? lol
