Oh, I expected Pokemon games, but this would be like releasing Gold/Silver 6 months before Ruby/Sapphire. What's the point of investing time in your collection?

Hopefully it'll be able to read junk off of the GBA carts just like Pokemon Box and make the transition, or work with the wireless adapter. (Has that been confirmed either way, yet?)

I'm pretty sure those names are tentative titles they just threw out there. I'm guessing those two games aren't anywhere near completion.

Hopefully AKI's MIKKE! is a wrestling game. It probably ins't though. :( At least they're on board. Maybe they can make a new wrestling game for the DS. I'd be happy with VPW ports too.

Meh. I'll get rid of it.
I still think it's too early for new Pokemon main games. I assume that the Snorlax-ish dude (Check Serebii.net for the pic) will be in it.

Two more tidbits:

1. The Japanese one comes with a spare stylus (so there's two in the box)

2. The Japanese one has its own AC Adapter, but it says you can also use the GBA SP AC Adapter, which leads me to believe that the leaked DS manual from a month or two back was legit (cause it said you could use the GBA one in there, if I remember correctly)

EDIT: PS -- M3wThr33 -- that's enough now with the fake games.

I might eat my own words but I'm almost convinced that the Pokemon DS games will not be coming out for a year. I'm estimating Winter 2005 at the earliest for a US launch.

Anyone notice a distinct lack of Zelda? I'd like a little of Zelda down the road.

EDIT: Nintendo's site has been working well lately for me and I managed to download the flash movie without any trouble.

UPDATES FROM 1UP:
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3135202

I've compiled the most interesting points/games. The ellipses mean I cut something out in order to "get to the point."

Super Mario 64:
"...The versus game takes those same characters and pits them against each other in a race to collect the most star fragments, while the mini-game collection contains more than 30 challenges based on the DS touch screen. Using the DS game download feature, four players can compete with just one DS game card."

Pokemon Dash:
"Though it's tied in to the upcoming Game Boy Advance RPG Pokemon Emerald, this is an action game, a racer starring the Pokemon series' signature star Pikachu. Developed by Ambrella, an independent Japanese studio, Dash lets Pikachu cruise around large environments shown from a top-down perspective in comparatively free-roaming checkpoint races."

Jam With The Band (was Band Brothers!):
"...Instead of using just one instrument, players can control several different parts of their orchestra with the DS touch interface, or even sing into the microphone, performing pre-created tunes or their own custom compositions. As the single-player game progresses, players acquire a bigger and bigger group to play larger and more auspicious venues."

Puppy Times (was Nintendogs):
"Yes, it's a virtual pet -- three virtual pets, actually, since the player names, raises, and trains three realtime 3D pooches. They'll respond to voice input through the DS microphone (with which you can assign them their own names), and go about their doggish business around the clock while the DS is in its sleep mode. If two sets of Nintendogs are in close proximity, furthermore, they'll passively communicate through the handheld's wireless hardware unbeknownst to either owner."

Advance Wars DS:
"...Other modes include a story-driven campaign, a nonstop survival mode with more missions to clear, a trial mode for learning basic strategy, and a mysterious "combat" mode that apparently uses the touch-screen interface in some fashion."

Another:
"...Another is a graphical adventure, where a young girl named Ashley finds herself at loose ends in a secret government research facility on Blood Edward Island. Her mother is killed in an accident, while her father, a researcher, goes missing. The game uses all of the DS interface features to let the player explore and navigate a 3D world -- the touch screen and microphone among them. The top screen shows the environment and characters, while the bottom screen offers objects and commands to interact with."

Meteos:
"...Meteos blends block-dropping puzzle action with some other curious gameplay elements -- apparently, the goal is to eventually launch all your blocks back up into orbit...."

EDIT: IGN has updated the names of "Nintendogs" and "Band Brothers!", I modified the names accordingly.

Band Brothers concept is pretty good - especially since I have been fiddling around quite a lot with my in-built composer on the mobile (celluar).

Heck most of those games are definite buys.

Aside from my complaints on the lack of texture filtering (Mario Kart DS has BIG UGLY pixels) the wireless game download feature has me very happy. Awesome that you can upload the game to four of your friends wirelessly and play without any hassle.

Oh, Nintendogs and Band Brothers have US titles now? Thanks for the tip.

The updated DS game list has some funky new shit on it, BTW.

Magical Vacation 2, I think that's news. And I wanna know what the fuck that Londonian Gothic shit is, even if it's probably just shitty cartoon porn. Two more Sega games too.

On the bashing tip, I see no reason to introduce any negativity here. This looks like just a lot of solid, cool software. More than I'd ever expected.

Yes, Sony's PSP plans were totally based on the theory that Nintendo would stop producing Pokémon games when NDS is released. I bet Sony are in shock now, who would've thought?!

The video/flash makes the DS look incredibly slick. Pokemon Dash seems a bit dodgy but Nintendogs, Mario 64 DS, Goemon, Yoshi, Wario and XX/XY look great.

If Konami release a Jikkyou Powerful Pro for DS I will definitely import along with Winning Eleven. Those crazy baseball games are the best.

I miss the good 'ol Famista N64 games. There was always so much to do. Like that chalk/paint laying minigame or the snowball fight.

John, based on the gba power adaptor. If i got a japanese DS, would I be able to charge it in Australia (240v)? It's seriously tempting to buy one when i go up there for summer holidays.

Man posting shots of DS games is going to be a pain in the ass! You have to not only post two shots but have them aligned properly in order for it to make sense.

As soon as SE announces support of any kind you may have a point.

On the wall next to the PSP booth at TGS there was a game list. On that list is an unannounced Square Enix title (as well as a Persona game and a few MMORPGs).

The SW Flash movie is damn sweet, and many games seem to be running at 60 frames per second... I'm not an expert on framerates, and I know that video is most likely not encoded in 60fps, but you can sometimes tell even from a 30fps video... Nintendogs in particular looked very fast and smooth.

Hey CJA where did you get that Intelligent Systems was assisting Nintendo R&D1 on Wario Ware DS??

Ahh I see it. The GameCube one was co-developed by IS as well so I guess the same team is doing it. The GBA one is by the R&D1 team solo. IS is doing a lot lately!!

Oh, an Nintendo R&D2 finally resurrects with Jam with the Band !!

What a nice surprise to wake up to.

A Zelda DS announcement would have been nice, but ah well it'll come eventually anyway.

Yay @ FFIII!
