Nintendo Switch 2 has the greatest first year line-up in gaming history!

Nintendo clown force in full gear it seems. Christ you sure can like it, maybe you'll even be able to convince yourself it's the best you've ever seen. But stating it like it's an objective truth.

OP is right. I can't wait to play the game that came out on the Wii U, and still wasn't running at 60fps on the switch at sub 1080p

You won't find a better first year line-up than this :messenger_fire: :messenger_fire: :messenger_fire:

- Mario Kart World
-
DK Bananza
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Street Fighter 6
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
- Zelda: BOTW + TOTK
- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
- Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition
- Kirby Air Riders
- Daemon X Machina
- Professor Layton and New World of Steam
- Hades 2
- Borderlands 4
- The Duskbloods

Switch 1 had
-Mario Odyssey
-Zelda Breath of the Wild
-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,
-Splatoon 2
-Xenoblade Chronicles 2
-Fire Emblem Warriors

As exclusives in the first year. This doesn't come close to topping that.

Ps5 had RDR 2, the last of us 1 & 2, uncharted 1 to 4, gta V, ghosts of Tsushima, god of war, final fantasy 7 remake, Arkham knight, resident evil 0, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 among others in its launch year

Switch 2 launch could just be the first new Pokemon mainline exclusive switch 2 game and it would be a rousing success.

to be fair MK8 Deluxe was not a new game, the blue ones I highlighted are new games

Switch 1 was largely the same
Switch was able to pad its lineup with a bunch of Wii U games that everyone missed out on.
Isn't that the norm with most launches these days? Loads of cross gen stuff and a handful of current gen only games.
Is it? PS5 launch window was pretty shitty but I don't remember their announcement presentation being filled with a bunch of 2+ year old games that I already played.

Anyway, whatever. I'm still hyped for Switch 2. Just saying there is nothing particularly impressive about this launch window lineup compared to other Nintendo systems.

It won't come close to the PS2. But there are lots of first year Switch 2 games/versions that haven't been announced yet.

I think the end result will be good when all is known.

Not really. It is pretty good hardware for once (for Nintendo) and with third party support it would be a compelling investment for a hobbyist. US Dreamcast launch line up is the best and I prefer the PS2 line up as I am a big fan of Tekken Tag Tournament and Midnight Club.

Where's Fast FUSION OP? That's an exclusive.

Definitely some cool stuff in there, for sure!
So ready for the new Metroid!

But many of those (third party) games must be the worst way to experience those games.
I feel bad for those who must experience Cyberpunk in less than 30fps (in a shitty resolution) that's a rough way to play such a amazing game.

It's good and not bad at all but not super amazing either.

Metroid Prime 4
Zelda Imprisonment War
Mario Kart

Now if they were to show a Brand new AAA Zelda with a completely new style and story that isn't another Hyrule Warriors and a brand New Mario Party than that would easily be top tier.

I didn't make the rules, OP did. 😊

Switch 1st year lineup > Switch 2 1st year linup.

It is pretty good though. Gotta be happy if you're a Nintendo fan. Unless you aren't made of money, that is.

EDIT: Though I guess we aren't even sure of what games are coming out during holidays/early next year yet. So maybe Switch 2 ends up taking the cake.

I don't think we know enough to say that yet. This is only really the first 7 months, so on the Switch side we wouldn't have got Mario Odyssey or Xenoblade 2 yet for example.

There are too many consoles with better catalogs during their first year than that, Mario Kart World, DK and MP4 are the only ones that interest me, all the rest are pretty meh, the worst ports of multiplatform games that came out years ago or a multiplayer game from FROM, on top of that it will miss a lot of new multiplatforms.

that's some really weak ass exclusives, MK World will sell all those PS5 exclusives combined ten times over
Switch 2 is stronger in exclusives but PS5 is stronger overall (at least so far, depends what else gets announced for Switch's first year.

'Sales define quality' is a good old ass Nintendo fan rhetoric. Well, except for the Wii U days; sales suddenly didn't matter back then. :lollipop_content:

Not sure about line up, but I think they have cooked up something special with Mario Kart World.

The more I think about it the more I feel that way. It might not be for everyone but will give something solid and compelling to early adapters.

Too bad am not into Switch ecosystem, friends and all, otherwise would have considered it.

Typical hyperbole around Nintendo games. I understand it being better for a 12 years old kid.

Or people with kids

I (and my family) have had way more use out of the Switch than we've had the PS5 these last few years.

Never thought I'd be saying that during the PS4 days.

no, I don't think so. How can PS5 first year multiplatform match Switch 2's: Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, SF6

Well good for you. Me a my family outgrew Nintendo after NES. Never looked back

It's not a bad lineup at all. I'm all in for that shit.

It's just that people would be much more enthusiastic if Nintendo didn't pull insane prices.

It's not even the best Switch first year lineup, TBH. It's a solid first few months, maybe even great depending on how those first party games turn out, but Switch has it beat.

Don't let the disgruntled hot takes of joyless fanboys bait you into reactionary threads. It just fuels the fire and makes the discourse surrounding Switch 2 even more hyperbolic.
