We were supposed to have an official announcement today, no?Pretty sure, Nintendo only wants to delay the announcement as long as they can, since Mario Kart 8 is still selling pretty well. They possibly have already the next game ready at this point…
They said they would announce it by the end of March, not release it by then.We were supposed to have an official announcement today, no?
Nintendo is going to release Switch 2 by late March 2025, they cannot delay it anymore...
The way it progresses, I'm inclined to believe retailers will receive stock by early March and Nintendo is going to announce it in mid-March because fuck why not.![]()
I remember some news saying they'll have to release Switch 2 by the end of March, since the financial year ends by then and they'll have to show increased profits for investors. They said they would announce it by the end of March, not release it by then.

Nintendo themselves are forecasting a profit decline.I remember some news saying they'll have to release Switch 2 by the end of March, since the financial year ends by then and they'll have to show increased profits for investors.
Switch 1 was released in March 2017 for the same reason, but it was announced a lot earlier (Oct/Nov 2016).
I'm still hopeful for a Jan launch and March release. They said they would announce it by the end of March, not release it by then.
Late March could be possible, but I think Nintendo will need some time to market their big launch games.I'm still hopeful for a Jan launch and March release.
People still think Switch 2 won't be able to play current-gen AAA games at decent quality, even on portable mode:
Trust me, the visual output will be higher quality compared to XSS.
I expect low texture quality, shadows, draw distance but better IQ at the same resolution. It can be close-ish, but the Switch 2's capabilities will still be far from a Series S.
Something like that yes, but it will depend on the game.I expect low texture quality, shadows, draw distance but better IQ at the same resolution.
XSS already renders in 360p resolutions and FSR can only do so much (I don't expect FSR4 support). It can be close-ish, but the Switch 2's capabilities will still be far from a Series S.
It's just an example to showcase 360p native rendering can give decent quality with DLSS4.I don't want to play Spider-Man 2. I hope the April direct doesn't have Sony's stinkers in it.
Switch 2 has some Ada features but it's mostly Ampere. While it has several advantages I'm not sure they'll be able to completely make up for the low power draw.XSS already renders in 360p resolutions and FSR can only do so much (I don't expect FSR4 support).
It has more raw power, granted, but in 2025 the RDNA2 architecture is considered antiquated/less efficient (no AI upscaling, small L2 cache) compared to Ada/Blackwell:

AMD Xbox Series S GPU Specs
AMD Lockhart, 1565 MHz, 1280 Cores, 80 TMUs, 32 ROPs, 8192 MB GDDR6, 1750 MHz, 128 bitwww.techpowerup.com
Nintendo hit the jackpot with nVidia and no PC AMD APU handheld can rival it...
When Switch 1 was released in 2017, it was the only console with tiled rendering support (GCN only supports immediate rendering).
I'll be surprised if it doesn't support DLSS4, considering Ampere/Ada PC GPUs got it with a driver update.Switch 2 has some Ada features but it's mostly Ampete. While it has several advantages I'm not sure they'll be able to completely make up for the low power draw.
One factor in its favour will be that there will be more incentive to optimise for Switch 2 than for Series S.
Its going to be very interesting to see which version it has, but what you said makes sense.I'll be surprised if it doesn't support DLSS4, considering Ampere/Ada PC GPUs got it with a driver update.
HiBro thinks this is some flex. Congrats I guess, cause anything less is gonna be a big oof.

Mark my words, the Switch 2 is going to receive a port of Cyberpunk 20277 and in the dock mode is going to run and looks better than the PS4 Pro version…
Why? He bolded the part he was referring to....
One for you tooMark my words, it wont be this powerful
Does it look and run better than the PS4 Pro version?Hi. A lot of people needs their plate here.

I don't think it will be. There will be many more powerful PC handhelds on the market. I am not convinced it will be more powerful than Steam Deck, even.
