Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which everyone thought would be free, requires €95 worth of accessories and a 4K TV to reach 100%

It doesn't require anything. It's literally a tour of the system and accessories, so it will have sections for the optional accessories as well. What a ridiculous framing for a post.

Honestly, who gives a fuck.

Shall we install a fainting couch for breathless Nintendo 2 dislikers?

Debate the bait.

I know you need a camera for 1 minigame. IT's a copy the expression of the avatar with your face game. You have to align you eyebrows, eyes, cheeks, mouth and head position with the avatar's. Better score the closer you are. Need a certain score to earn the medal(s.)

Great another misinformation post from sebastien

BTW you can skip and get the rewards from the mission that needs camera, 4k, 120hz etc with a cheat code they tell you ingame

Remember back in 2006 when people got all mad that Gears of War had achievements for multiplayer, which required paying for XBL Gold?

It's IGN post not my post , I only copy paste what's written

OH no. I did not do some of the games in it because I didn't want to stand up and get the system out of the Dock. But it is a cool thing.

The little Golf mini game was fun. And Trying to move the mouse quickly was tough for a person of my years.

Played it last night, while I had some fun with minigames and the cute art style, this should've been a pack in. I mean, considering their other pack ins like the 3DS stuff and Wii Sports, this felt kind of lame compared to them. I'm not going to even mention Astro Bot because it doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath.

Just the fact you needed some accessories to play the minigames is absurd. Yeah I know you can get it for free with the inline subscription, but still.

Some people on GAF are becoming like YouTubers love making click bait titles.

All they need is post their ugly ass goofy face to completely become exactly like YouTubers.

Mario Party Jamboree is a $20 upgrade pack that then requires another set of Joycon 2 and the Switch Camera (so, $150 of accessories) to fully experience as well, looking forward to the articles.

Aren't 4K TVs everywhere now? I get the camera thing, but 4K TVs are so common you'd struggle to find one that isn't.

GAF's hatred for its own hobby has really become something else over the last 12 months

Weird post. No one assumed it would be free, when they announced it they said it would be a paid app.

Now, whether or not is should be free is a different discussion entirely.

pretty sure there's an in game method to get the 100% without the 4k tv one of the NPC's says it.
couldn't test cause I have a 4k tv

It really has, I'm starting to question do even enjoy act of playing video games.

I think they enjoy bitching about it more than actually playing them.

It is a 'Nintendo hardware tour' piece of software. so every time you add a new device, it unlocks a new part of the hardware tour. I can understand why this is the way it is. But it is still weird as fuck.

Seems they're all skippable, not to mention any camera works. I've seen people connect their USB-C phones to use as the Switch 2 camera.

Still a shit deal though. Should've just been a pack-in.

Fun little game. $10 is nothing. A 2hr movie costs more for just 1 person. And most are less fun. And you aren't tempted to pay $21 for 1 medium popcorn and 2 cherry cokes before playing Welcome Tour.

But admittedly it's not a game & experience for everyone. Not going to go over well with the jaded types. IT's for the parents/kids and those who aren't ultragamerz and like the fun quirky little things Nintendo puts out sometimes...that's the audience for this.

These experiences are skippable, and the game actually tells you a cheat code to move past them so your progress further through the game isn't blocked.

It's a non-issue.

If my Switch 2 didnt have a perfect ( and I mean perfect ) screen with Zero dead pixels or light bleed from any edge of the screen, I would have returned it and never looked back.

Nintendo greed is something else. but I don't want to go through the screen lottery as I am very OCD and I really Love Mario Kart. its my fav series along with GT7 that I do not stop playing ( as matter of fact I think I like Mario Kart series more than anything outside of F Zero series )

so I am weak and decided to keep it. but sure as hell I won't be buying this or any of those 90$ games either. Will wait for a sale or used.

I am a little late responding to this thread than when I first read it, but your post beat me to what I was going to say. I know this is all off topic from the initial conversation, but I agree with what you said. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with criticizing things and am all for that, but I feel like a certain handful of posters on this site (and it's not only directed at the Switch 2), just do not have anything positive to say about anything related to games. It does often feel like the real enjoyment they have is complaining about something, or stirring the pot than actual enjoying any games.

There's a war going on in my soul between the part of myself who thinks this is bullshit clickbait and the part that thinks this is the funniest thing to happen in gaming since Concord.

Sorry for the double post, but to actually address the topic at hand, what a dumb ass rage bait article lol. This is an interactive digital manual with cutesy mini games, not a full on game that people are likely wanting to 100% to completion. I am absolutely on board that it should have been included on the device for free, but let's be real, it would have been a one time through to see some of the interesting factoids that are thrown on there about your new device and then uninstalled for the disk space to put on actual games. What a stupid fucking thing to complain about and to try to create controversy on.
