why Nintendo decided to charge people for this.
Because this is how they see their adoring fans. They could have sold it separately but also added it for free in the Switch 2 + MKW bundle, they could give it away for free if you have an NSO subscription or an NSO+Expansion Pack one, nope…

This is less of a game arguably than Nintendo Land and that one was given for free on the Wii U Premium bundle.
Their fandom is barely protesting this and may even reward them with lots of sales :/. We are part of that problem…

I can simply can ignore this game, it's not worth "skipping entire Switch 2" over it but still a shame.

This actually looks like a fun way to show Switch 2's features but it should have been free, I dont understated why Nintendo decided to charge people for this.
Because Nintendo is a Kyoto-based company, that city is renowned for its skilled craftsmen. Nintendo considers itself a craftsman. They always think they should value their products.

It's the third episode to "why would NIntendo charge people for this" after 1,2, Switch and Everybody's 1,2 Switch

I don't have any plans to get a Switch 2 any time soon, but once I do this is on my list, it's the kind of nerdy techy thing I like. Besides, maybe one of the minigames is absolute fire like the Metroid game in Nintendo Land.
It's just 10€, but I agree with everyone that it should've been free.

KCD2 and Expedition 33 were great games but this blew me away. I laughed. I cried. GOTY sleeper. A triumph.

I'd say it's worth $10. There's a lot to do and it has some fun mini games.

My girlfriend saw me playing one and thought she could beat me, so we took turns competing for a higher score. Felt like classic gaming. Super easy game to understand but difficult to master.

They should have added leaderboards.

I like it. Didn't know the mouse sensor is actually a super super low res b/w camera. Didn't know the rumble was a piece of metal connected by 2 springs oscillated back and forth by magnets.

And the minigames are fun. And there's quite a few. I'm not too far in although I also saw my kid play more of it.

Might be an old man game to some degree. There's actually optional small quizzes you can do. My 18 yr old got sick of those quick. He liked the mini-games tho. And liked the rumble demo among other things. Lots of mini-games showing off the mouse.

But it's really just a $10 mini-game collection that shows off Switch 2 features.

This really should have been included with the Switch. It's ridiculous that Nintendo is charging for this.

I think it's smart that they didn't include this with the system. It's so boring they probably didn't want anyone to play it and have a bad first experience with the Switch 2.

I even like all the nerdy details and I think it's pretty dumb.

It says that this game is also based on the technological issue of the Nintendo Switch 2, but honestly, what's the point of buying it...

I'm not sure why it is ridiculous to charge for a collection of mini-games but I"m aware the internet has this opinion because before they got 'free' and not there is not 'free' to be got.

For both Wii and Wii U, the games meant to show off the new hardware were free (Wii sports and Nintendo Land). It was former President of NoA Reggie Fils-Aime was the one who made sure they were free. He even said he disapproves of them charging for Welcome Tour

Don't worry, you'll be able to get it once you manage to get the Nintendo rose tinted glasses off.

Yeah as I said it's because they have done 'free' before.

Switch had no pack-in games though.

And of course 99.99% of people whining haven't played this $10 game.

OK so you're just repeating the hot take of the internet who didn't play game? Got it.
It's only hot cuz you burned yourself actually paying for this crap dude...

There's this thing called principle that no sane man should abandon,no matter how low a price a multi billion dollar company(that clearly wants to take advantage of you as a consumer) flaunts in front of you.

That's some hot take there. Sorry I bought a collection of mini-games for $10 and am enjoying it. I know that sucks for you.

This game is stupid and I don't recommend anyone buy it…

That being said, some of these dumb minigames are extremely addictive. I just spent 45 minutes trying to accurately tilt and hold my Switch down to the exact degree, and I have no idea why I found that (and a bunch of other stupid "games") so addictive.

I kind of hate myself for enjoying this paid tech demo so much.

fix'd that for you.

Nintendo charging for this game only reinforces my decision to only ever purchase Nintendo stuff used. They should get a direct sale from me. Every amoral action is justified (har-har).

It can be worth $10 and also shouldn't cost $10 at the same time. Yes, admittedly I've already had $10 worth of fun with this game. It's neat, and some of the minigames are really fun, in that raw arcade kind of way.

But in no way do I think it was right for Nintendo to charge for this game. It should have been a free download for sure. Maybe free with NSO. If this served as the manual for the Switch 2, that would have been so cool.

But charging $10 is horrible optics and makes this game a complete laughing stock. It makes Nintendo look bad and has brought so much negative press. It was a fucking stupid decision to charge for this. There's no way whatever profit Nintendo made off of this game is worth the negative optics, especially during a time when Nintendo is viewed as greedy and overpriced. They could have had an easy win by just making this a free download or NSO game.
