I'm so torn. Should I do SnipperClips or Fast RMX? I'll eventually get both, but can only do 1 for now. (I have an equal number of people to play either one with.)

Can I go back to the Great Plateau after leaving it?

I don't want to go into the OT cause spoilers are probably rampant.

Yes, you will be able to return after leaving. You'll see. :)

Fast RMX is a showcase for what the Switch can do, and a superb example of its genre. If you like futuristic racers, then don't even think about it. Buy now. I'd go for it over Snipperclips, simply to see what the Switch can do graphically.

It seems Amazon.com preorders for the retail version of USFII are now open. I checked news about it, and it seems it was only available with the digital version at first. Don't know when it went up, but I assume it was a few hours ago given how it climbed from 4,000th to 360th in Amazon charts in the past 24 hours (that usualy happens when preorders open, IIRC). Does anyone know if that's the case?

Is the DQH demo as bad as I read everywhere? I have not create a JP account (or how you do it) but I am interested in the games.

Just do the electrical tape fix. It made a world of difference to me, and you would never know it's there. Snugs up the JoyCon, and removes the creaking/clicking etc.

Thanks, this is it, works nicely. It's still a little loose but feels like "working as intended". Sturdy enough to not bother my OCD.

Haha, what a funny moment today at the office.

I'm working as a research associate in a german university. mostly with women who are not very expierenced with gaming at all. I've got two colleagues who are as much into gaming as i am.

So today i brought my Switch with me to demonstrate Zelda and the Switch in general. Those who are not into gaming didn't understand Zelda at all...except for the horses. :) Too brutal, not realistic etc...

Afterwards I showed them Snipperclips. We've played about one hour together laughing our asses off.

They said "Yeah, dat Zelda was quite boring and dumb but Snipperclips would justify a purchase for me".

Now we funded together a second pair of Joy-Cons for some next week Snipperclips madness. :)

Such a nice experience!

I've had some issues with my switch as of late and was wondering if anyone experienced similar problems.

The other day my home button and screen capture button weren't working when I was playing BOTW on my TV. When I pressed the power button on the console the image on the screen froze. I took the switch out of the dock and the image on the switch screen was frozen. I tried holding the power button for 10 seconds. Nothing happened, and the frozen image stayed on the screen. Eventually I held the power button down for a long time, like 40-50 seconds and the screen turned off.

Later that day my brother was playing Zelda in portable mode, and Zelda quit to the UI saying there was a software error.

The Switch is getting a lot of use between my brother and I, and I'm worried that it's going to crap out. And with no way to transfer or back-up my saves, I'm terrified of losing all my progress in BOTW.

I have a question. Can you charge the Switch while fully off or does it always turn on when hooking it up to power when fully turned off?

I find the switch is very finicky in this regard. What I have to do is power down the system while it's already plugged in, otherwise plugging in the power will turn the system on. I will definitely be getting rev. 2 of the switch when it comes out and trading in this one. There are simply too many minor and major issues with the system. That said it has been a life savor for some long flights I've taken and I'm really enjoying Zelda.

The battery indicator on my switch seems wonky. I will have it on at like 10 percent, then if I reset it it will go up to 40 percent. And I have played for over thirty minutes with the thing at 1 percent. Anyone else have this issue?

Wow, cool. I think my colleagues (also German uni) wouldn't be into it -- I generally have to hide my gaming from them. A bit frowned upon and all.

Snipperclips is turning into a real system seller. Someone posted about people on an airplane playing it after a complete stranger asked about the Switch. Damn, sooon we're all going to be on roof parties with the thing.

Anyone got tips on a longer power cable for the dock? I had thought simply buying a long USB cable + wall charger would do the trick, but then the Switch gave me a warning about not being able to charge with it.

Past 2 days I been getting weird issues. Ever since I plugged in the USB cable for the pro controller into the dock things have been funky at times.Left joy con not registering as connected to the system. Took a few minutes and clicking the thing in and out to finally have it register. Also the console it self was not powering up or down properly. This morning the thing would not turn on docked or undocked for like 2 minutes. I disconnected the pro controller cable, etc. Docked and undocked once or twice more and it worked.

Hopefully these fluke incidents but will see. The switch has been getting a ton of use here as well.

So the headphone jack is on the top of the system? Does that mean I have to run the headphone cable behind the system and make it all super awkward? -_-

Went through with an order for an additional Dock, only to find out that it does not come with an AC adapter. I'm not super excited about forking over $30 for a wall wart...can the dock be safely powered by an alternate adapter?

Yeah, I'm hoping mine are flukes too.

I would feel so much better if I could just back up my saves. I hope there's an update soon for that. I've put so much time into BOTW, I'm not sure I could do it all over again.

Wouldn't be able to use it in kickstand mode if it was on the bottom has to be on side or top. (Should be ON JOYCON, tho)

Is it possible that its constantly trying to pair/connect the pro that is plugged in via usb? I was on the train yesterday and was playing zelda in handheld mode and I had my pro in my messanger bag and didn't realize I was leaning on the bag and hitting the buttons on the pro, so I kept getting the "Hit L and R on your controller" screen, because it didn't know what controller I wanted to use.

I started Zelda and the controller worked in OS menu but it kept on asking to connect the left controller. Sleep mode and back and back to normal. Software.

Played Super Mario 3D World with my kid, with Wii Classic Controller Pro. Holy shit those stick stand tall as hell! Feels like two joysticks. I guess I got convertedw with Joy-Con sticks, I actually like them now. Not in love but they're okay. A lot better than Wii Classic Controller. That D-pad though...

I don't agree. I don't want a cord coming out of my joy-con when I'm using the switch in tabletop mode.

You'd rather it come out of the switch itself? I disagree strongly but I guess its a personal taste thing. They really need to patch in BT support.

Quick question, getting ready to do a bit of traveling and I have the neon joy con Switch. I want to purchase the grey set for out and about, is it still a lottery for the quality of the controller? Or am I safe to buy a separate controller set?

I'm pretty sure it's a design flaw in all the left controllers. Just some aren't affected with where they place their dock, how far they sit from the dock and if there's anything between the joy-con and the dock.

My mind is still blown at the fact that Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a portable game, and might be one of the biggest and best open world games I have ever played. The Switch (despite it's left joy-con flaw) is what I always wanted in a portable device.

I stood across the room without it in the dock and didn't experience any lag... so it has to be in the dock?

Not sure still if I should wait and purchase another set or it if Nintendo will address in a future release.

Because I want to buy World of Goo and don't want to wait:
If I switch my region to the US and buy the game, then switch back, do I keep the game for redownload when it shows up on the UK store?

Invested in a glass screen protector. Went on really nice and easily. Much better than that pos that came with the case. Probably just in time as I have accumulated a few minor scratches from the dock.

Now I can stop being wary about taking it out!

Does anybody while playing BOTW gets like a weird Vsync problem that last for like 3 seconds and then everything plays normal. It only happens with that game and while docked, it is hard to describe and I'm assuming is some kind of Vsync, it's like the screen splits in three parts horizontally and when you turn, all three sections move at a different speed until they get together and everything works fine for another hour or so. This lasts only for like 3 seconds, doesn't bother me that much but I wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing the same.

I've heard that Snipperclips is fairly short, while Digital Foundry said Fast was the most impressive portable game they've ever seen.

I wonder if it's possible for them to release an update that boosts the wifi strength. Could that be a thing?

I just moved my switch dock to avoid joycon issues and now get pretty bad wifi connection, as I've seen many others mention.

Just purchased World of Goo, Little Inferno and Human Resource Machine. Never played any of them so I said why not, plus I like the art style and puzzlers. Price was good too.

can you transfer cartridge games to sd card on the switch? i like having physical copies of games but also want the portability factor of being able to have multiple games on my internal storage drive on the switch.

and if this isnt a feature why the heck isnt it?

Obvious reasons? You could install a game to your SD card, and then resell the game card. No system offers the ability to install a game from physical media and then discard the physical media.

I'm liking my Switch & zelda so far, but I noticed that there appears to be a white speck of some kind under my screen. If I called Nintendo about this, would they replace my Switch? Assuming they would, does anyone know how long Nintendo normally allows for replacements for something like this? (Ideally, I would like to complete Zelda before sending it in...)
Update on my switch: I ended up sending it into Nintendo for replacement. It was a pretty easy process, thankfully, and I ended up getting it back fairly quickly. On the packing note the serial # in and out are different, so it would appear that I received a new switch entirely, which seemed fine to me. I then saw the post-repair instructions that came back with it, which stated that they could not recover any of my data; disappointing, but not a huge deal since I was only 6 hours or so into Zelda, most of which was spent on the Great Plateau. I did a quick inspection of the replacement switch's screen and did not see any particles under it, or scratches on it, so I was pretty stoked. However, once I turned it on, I noticed a nice fat dead pixel off to the right of the screen... this was very upsetting. Upon further inspection, I also noticed another smaller one towards the bottom-middle of the screen, but that one is pretty small and not that noticeable, so it wouldn't have bothered me too much on its own. Sadly, the fat dead pixel is very noticeable, and very annoying.

Now my options seem limited, and I'm not sure how to proceed. I can't exactly return it to the place of purchase, BestBuy, since the serial no longer matches the box that it came in, and I likely cannot send it back in for another replacement either (Nintendo put out statements saying that they do not consider dead pixels to be defects). I suppose I could keep the switch, but I do find the dead pixel to be very distracting, and I have OCD, so it would be a nuisance for years to come. Perhaps, I could just sell the damn thing, while mentioning the dead pixel, but I don't think that I'd be able to recoup the entirety of the money I spent on the console (~$320, due to tax). Like I said, I'm not sure how to proceed from here...
