"During a press conference today, an official release date was finally provided for Switch’s launch in China. It will arrive on December 10 for RMB 2,099, which translates to $300. The package will come bundled with New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (as well as a one-year warranty).

Switch games will cost RMB 299 (about $42). New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is the first official game approved for sale, with others to follow. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey can be pre-ordered, and other first-party titles are being prepared.

Titles made in China such as Icey and Chinese Parents are also planned to release. Tencent and Nintendo are working with Chinese developers to bring indie titles to the platform. The companies are also teaming up with AAA partners to bring additional third party titles to the China market. These include Chinese AAA partners such as Tencent’s own Next Studio.

Local servers will be powered by Tencent for smooth online play. WeChat Pay will be supported as well."

Edit: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is not bundled with the system in China. It does come with a demo however.

Expanding your market to China isn't a problem. The problem is when companies start embracing their politics. If Blizzard wants to sell a few games in China for example. Fine, that's whatever. But don't fire a player over political beliefs that have NOTHING to do with you or your game at all. The views of your players and creators, do not, and should not reflect the views of your brand.

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe should probably be bundled with All Switch units at this point. It's a borderline worthless product especially for full price they're still charging it for.

I wonder if this will encounter any kind of success with all other portables and rip-offs that already flood their market.

If they only sell to 1%!!!!!!

I can't wait to see Nintendo also kissing the Chinese communist government's ass.

As long as they're wise enough not to open offices with important info there, the Chinese government can make any excuse to raid your office and confiscate what they want.
