Hi everyone, my son has a Nintendo Switch Oled but he doesn't like to play it on TV because of the controller (joycon attached to that base) so i thought i would buy him a controller, because he likes to play Cuphead on my PC with the XboxOne controller.

Is there is any good alternative to the Switch Pro controller that works out of the box?

You can get one of those magic NX switch dongles so you can connect any other console controller on the switch

I use this: https://www.amazon.com/stores/FUNLAB/page/A50ABA6A-649E-43DB-9CFE-E8CD26B2F8AC
The funlab firefly, there are different patterns and lights can be turned off (or changed color). It starts the switch from controller, and has rumble and 6 axis (or whatever nintendo calls it) just no nfc, which Imo is really only for pokemon and fitness games. Plus its on $30.

I bought two and they have held up. I also have a sn30pro 8bit do, as well as some see through switch controller that i bought for $25 at a retro shop and it works just fine.
No way am i paying what $80 for a basic switch pro controller. These work great.

Whatever you do, do not buy the "official" licensed hori controllers. They are missing features on purpose. They take out rumble and motion controls so they can market the pro controller as the only one with those features. It's ridiculous and a rip off. Too many people are duped , oh its "official" officially a pile of crap!

You can also get joycons that are larger that fit together more like a controller.
Here is an 8bit do one that is similar to the pro, it's only $30 right now too. It's more basic but good company:
