I'm gonna laugh when this idea or gimmick ends up being hated on by the masses and laughed at by Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo has a habit of thinking their ideas are the greatest ever and then failing to read the market or poorly executing the idea.

If this brand new concept doesn't blow people away I will laugh because they are hyping it up like it's the next Wii.

I think Nintendo just wants to have a lot to show when the NX is finally revealed. Games, the OS, the controller, the final form factor of the console, etc. They want to nail the messaging right out of the gate.

When they unveiled Wii U in 2011, they had very little to show software-wise, which was one of the many things that hurt them.

Remote Play and Smart Glass were big components of Sony and Microsoft's E3s around that time.
