I'm pretty sure you
get the blueprint for the antimatter as a sort of story quest. I got a pop up saying to visit a specific place to get said blueprint so I can warp.
I think I'm fucked then.
The only pop-up I get is the one telling me to go to the galactic map and warp. Which I can't do cause I have no fuel.

Trial by fire on my starting planet. Pretty severe toxicity and got into a fight with the sentinels like five minutes in.

Anyone else still waiting on delivery from thegamecollection? They claimed postage on Monday at lunch time but I've yet to receive anything.

So I went to the planet the beacon was on, and it was classified as barren and had a low atmosphere, making my suit drop its environmental protection by 25% every few minutes. A bit harrowing. Fortunately it was also overflowing with resources. It did actually have some flora, and...there were some haunting sounds coming from...something. Now I have my hyperdrive, but I have to find warp cells somewhere, and not sure where those are. I guess I could swap for my pre-order ship at this point, but don't want to cause a bug as some have had.

I should probably go to bed, but...just a little more

If I understand it correctly, this is a statement that the meeting between two players on Twitch was bugged. Only the discovery system is still working because of the amount of players.

I mean, yeah. This is what I've been saying. Their servers are melting and these people are calling Sean a liar and discussing legal action. Fucking insane. The poor guy is probably getting death threats again.

Yesterday I started playing the game at 8 in the evening. I was set on, and motivated to, work out later. At 9 I figured I should set a timer to force myself to quit playing, so I set it for 20 minutes. It rang, and I had to just do one more thing. I ended up working out at 11. Hahah.

here i am waiting for friday :(

i'm desperate to play this and am seriously tempted to just buy it on PS4 right now but i know i'll end up buying it again for PC. i just need to hold off.

Maybe not. I've heard people say they want the opposite, more chilled out exploring. I guess you can't please everyone. For me the balance is about right. But then I kind of feel the game was made for me :p

To be honest though, it didn't really click until I figured out my playstyle after a couple of hours. Now I'm in the groove it's really hard to stop playing.

Hmm. Maybe they can in the future have a "survival" type mod or some giant creatures that pose a real threat. It's too bad to hear the game is more casual and focused on easygoing exploration. I wanted a hostile galaxy that doesn't give a shit about your survival.

Is there a way to navigate back to systems you've been at easily? I tried going to the system under discoveries, but I couldn't set a waypoint to a given system. I just want a way to reliably get to sort of "my system". I also found a moon that had hostile sentinels, that also had these glowing orbs I could pick up. I got insta 3-starred if I did that, though. Ended up legging it around the surface picking up a bunch. They sold for 20k each, so that was nice!

Well, I've been attacked by space pirates and that moon wasn't very nice. It's not all easy-going.

When did you order it?, if you only ordered it recently then it maybe in their second wave, as they ran out of pre-order copies very quickly.

What does accepting that Atlas thing at the beginning of the game do? I didn't and the name keeps popping up and am wondering if I made a mistake.

Jeez, I haven't played a game like this for length of time in a sitting, since Star Wars Galaxies. I've been at it since Tuesday, 11:36am est and just quit out Wednesday, 4:51 am.

Right when I was going to go to bed I found an Atlas Pass plans. I also learned to make something that I think's called unstable plasma. Made one (it costs a ton of mats) but have nothing I can use it on yet. Hopefully I find something when I play tomorrow.

I was getting really close to giving up on this game. Got ambushed by 4 ships and barely had enough titanium to keep repairing shields until I killed them all. I flew back down to the planet I was just on but had to do it really slowly because I have no shields left and nearly died from asteroids. I land by a building thinking something interesting is there, but nope. Now I don't have enough Plutonium to launch back up again and there's none in site. A storm pops up and I start thinking that this is it as I don't have much to repair my thermal gear (hot planet, storm made it about 112c). When my thermal shields is down to 50%, I finally found a cave. I was just going to stay in it until the storm passed, but inside was hundreds and hundreds of Plutonium. Finally things are starting to look up for me. I gathered 1000 Plutonium and about 100 Aluminum, plus a little Iron until the storm cleared. When I walk out of the cave, I see a building close to me. Inside I found plans for an upgraded jetpack, as well as a shop. Besides the 5 minute walk back to my ship, I'm feeling fantastic. I made the improved jetpack as well as a warp cell (bought the mats I didn't have from the shop) and set off to another galaxy.

I still haven't found anywhere to upgrade my exosuit yet but besides that I'm feeling a lot better than I was earlier.

This game is so good!!!! I have already explored three starsystems and went to every planet/moon on them. Discovered some stuff there and have like 30 words now. Met like 15 Aliens?

If you see a thing called 'space anomaly' go there right away

Finally figured out how to claim my 100% complete planet bonus (I'm an idiot) and bought a nice looking ship with 2 more inventory slots than the starter. Pretty good day in NMS.

Buy
the fuel. Once you warp, you'll get a quest for the recipe of anti-matter
That's the problem. I can't find it for sale anywhere.
Neither the fuel itself nor antimatter to craft it. That's why I'm wondering if what the space station has for sale will change at all. And I already warped once so I don't know if that messed things up. I also lost fuel when I got a new ship and my old ship had some left in the warp drive.

Well, the option was something like "I'd rather explore more freely". I think it means that the game removes these events that occur from time to time that pushes you in the right direction, story-wise. Without it, I guess you're left at your own vices.

Hm. Try looking for an outpost on a planet,
since they can carry antimatter as well.

Yup. He sent these tweets in quick succession at around 8am when he was probably just in the office finding stuff out and such and is probably looking into it now.

From the tweets it sounds like they have more than just "Discoveries" on the server, and that it is only the discoveries bit that is handling the load right now, and that everything else is buggered due to server load. And he might not want to say anything until he gets it up and running and people find out for themselves how it all works perhaps? I dunno but people need to calm down a tad :( It's not even a staple feature of the game and there is a 41 page thread wiht people threatening legal action. Internet scares me sometimes lol.

People are f'ing morons, it angers me so much. This game is so special and beautiful, how can anyone become angry and threaten legal action. What a bunch of turds

I seriously needed this game. I'm so glad to have it and totally enjoyed my first day with it. I hope they continue to add more features outside the announced stuff, games like this need constant updates like Terraria had.

Disappointed about multiplayer but who knows what the future brings. I'm still going to enjoy it as is.

My thanks go out to all the hard workers at Hello Games.

Trade with the npc's that come to dock at the space station. If you are looking for something usually you will find what you're looking for eventually by hanging around a space station runway.

Wooo started last night finally. My first planet was so annoying and took me an hour or two to fix everything and take off. After checking other 3 planets in starting system i hopped to next one and landed to a random planet. OMG it was delicious. Pink trees with huge lakes, floathing islands, huge rock pillars near beaches going up to sky. I named it BARBIELAND due to pink color lol.

So I spent like 4 hours in BarbieLand just wandering and walking, i was like 1.5 hours walk distance from my ship when i found a station where i can teleport my ship to it. Found many ruins and derelict research stations with weird test capsules in them. It was awesome.

After checking few more planets after BarbieLand i started to notice the pattern in the game. Yeah there arent many options for interactivity on the surfaces (stations, nps and ruins). Almost all caves looked same in planets. I wish there were more geographical variations and elements like waterfalls, polar caps.

But the feeling of walking and getting far and far from your ship in one planet is thrilling.

My biggest complain would be space is PURPLE and game is too bright. I want more darkness i was kinda dissapointed when it was night in the planets that i landed. It wasn't dark enough.

Now I remember, the first warp cell I crafted didn't even require antimatter, just some mats and fuel from the shop. That's rng too?

Alright I'll keep searching. I only found one that had a market so far.

I did that too and had no luck. It made it so wasn't sure if they would have it.

Imagine this game with the driveclub cloud tech. (and lighting)
They are going to update the visual including clouds
Next up we’re adding the ability to build bases and own giant space freighters. Temporal AA and my new cloud rendering tech should be coming soon too. It will really change the game again, and enhance it visually.

This universe we’ve built is a pretty large canvas, we’ve got a lot of ideas. This is the type of game we want to be.

If you warped to the second system with hyperdrive, then you had Antimatter. Go out into space again near the beginning of the new system and do a scan, the quest for Antimatter plan shows up. The icon should be light bluish. It doesn't say antimatter plan or anything like that.

Antimatter is used to make the fuel for the hyper drive.

Chewy, Take the professor into the back and plug him into the hyperdrive! Lol

OMG, how do you find "abandoned starships"? Are there beacons or hints that lead you to them?

In my case, I believe a beacon led me there. There was a couple items and some tech by the wreckage.. imagine my surprise when I inspected the cockpit and saw I could take fix it and take it!

Space isn't purple everywhere. Each system is in a cluster that has a sort of nebula surrounding them that can vary in colour. I'm in a green one right now. But having space completely black I don't think you''ll see. That's an artistic choice that HG have done for the game it seems.

People losing their shit with the game and here I am still waiting for the friggin postman to appear.

You and me both. Post usually turns up around 10:30 so here's hoping he's not going to be too much longer. Annoyingly, the past two days he's been like 45 minutes early, but not today :(

Man, I have a ludicrous planet in my second star system. It's like 70% water, and the other 30% is basically gold. There are towers of it everywhere, and even better the cave systems are stuffed with gold crystals (which are far superior to surface gold formations). The only downside is that it has so little surface population you pretty much need to return to station to sell, but in the cave systems I could fill my ~20 free exosuit slots and whatever's open in my ship in like 30 minutes.

Gonna miss that place when I move to PC, damn.

Does anyone know how to get back to early galaxies you've visited? The galactic map doesn't seem to help if you get further away from where you started.

I know the pause menu shows everything you've discovered, but doesn't assist with getting there.

Asked this exact question literally minutes ago. Can anyone help?

i haven't pre ordered and really wouldn't bother but i'm interested in that space ship the Horizon Omega. it looks cool but is it worth pre ordering? can i easily find a better ship at the start of the game? do we all start with the same ship or is it random?

Are you viewing the map in explore mode?

speaking of "towers of gold" - does anyone know, are there any upgrades to the mining beam beyond "melts shit faster" and "overheats less"? ... like ... blows bigger holes?
