That's the whole point, it will boost sales of GTA in the US.
American retail (Walmart, Target, etc.) will force 100% of American GTA sales go through the PSN.
Sony can drop ship boxed games inside the US.
Meanwhile, EU GTA will get the same PEGI 18 that GTA always gets so no change there.

Even though a good amount of people like that game because it has a lot of content and they did the table top to game content extremely well. I never liked that game and that's one of the reason plus I don't like any of the main characters and the whole games art style doesn't appeal to me even as someone that usually like fantasy style settings.

As a massive publicity stunt that repositions Rockstar in an era where Nintendo sells PEGI 18 games.
It would go something like this, with the headlines being American:
'GTA receives AO rating' makes headlines.

Nobody's going to not buy GTA because it has an AO rating.

It's the biggest video game franchise in the world. It make's headlines right now with people simply speculating about release dates. Making the game less available, and making it less likely for parents to buy it for their children, will not increase sales. Even in this fantasy where Playstation for some reason walks back their AO policy.
The amount of copies GTA 5 sold is almost 3 times larger than the entire PS5 user base.

Sony, MS and Nintendo none of them allow sales of AO games on their platforms. There isn't a single AO rated game available on them.
However, there have been examples of games that had to be toned down to reach M ratings to release.

M vs AO is equivalent to R vs X (now called NC-17) in film. You could take your kid to an R rated film if you want, but you couldn't take them to an X rated one.

Going by what's generally online, the key difference between M and AO is that AO titles tend to show 'prolonged' sequences of violence and/or graphic sexual depictions.

PlayStation, in stark contrast with Nintendo, has always existed as a mature platform for adults.
PlayStation's current AO policy benefits MS and Nintendo by allowing the restrictive M rating to define AAA gaming as a whole.
Xbox and Nintendo existing as child-centric family-friendly platforms means that they're both unable to make or sell AO games.
PlayStation changing their AO policy will redefine modern AO AAA gaming as something that exists only on PlayStation's consoles.
As opposed to being a 'porn game' category, AO ratings would provide a way of clearly telling parents that a game isn't made for kids.
AO games would be removed from the ongoing dialog about American kids and video games.
GTA6 has enough pull to shift the modern standard for AAA games from M to AO.
AO being nonexistent on consoles means PlayStation can redefine the AO rating with GTA6 setting the tone initially.
GTA6 being AO will reframe M rated AAA games as kid-safe games that have been toned down and censored for young children.
Applying that relatively weak rating to every game from every MS owned studio will lower sales for many of their biggest games across platforms (CoD, Gears of War, Halo, WarCraft, Elder Scrolls, Diablo, etc.).
MS will never make or sell AO games in America. This fact puts many of MS' large studio acquisitions in a vulnerable position where they'll be unable to adapt to a changing landscape.
PlayStation needs to be competitive with Steam.
Steam sells AO games and has publicly gone to bat for AO games, positioning themselves above PlayStation, Nintendo and MS as a champion of studios' creative rights.
The reality is that the ESRB's unique M rating restricts studios' creative freedom in exchange for facilitating the sale of violent PEGI18 games to American kids via their parents.
PS allowing AO games will give studios more creative control over their games in exchange for making it clear that a game isn't made for kids.
Parents can block AO games on PSN and consoles the same way they already block M games and consoles blocking M games would automatically block AO games.
EU gaming will be unaffected as GTA6 will receive the exact same PEGI18 rating that every previous GTA game has.

Of those three platforms only PlayStation is privately held and can make the move to allow AO games.
Internally, at Rockstar and other AAA studios, AO games have always existed.
Studios tone games down to ensure that they receive the mandatory M rating.
With M being the ceiling on consoles no one outside of studios will ever get to play uncut games.

Like if someone murders someone out of revenge or someone gets pushed and really lost their temper in the heat of the moment, obviously still very bad but nothing comparable to someone who takes pleasure in murdering people as those usually lack remorse too so those would be worse than rapists for sure but I personally wouldn't put the latter too as worse than rapist.

There is much worse on Steam. This game here is a VN. It is pretty much a picture book. It's tame in comparison to what you can find on Steam. There are fully interactive, fully voiced rape games on Steam. This VN here doesn't push any boundaries, it was just unlucky to get pushed into the limelight.

That's a very good point now that you mentioned about those porn rental places. I didn't check those sections out at the time cause one it'll be something I'll try to avoid and two I was way too young. The rental stores were already dying out at that point but I was still able to rent some movies but more horror like movies like Evolver, Death Machine etc. And didn't check but I don't doubt there's worse stuff there on steam which are also easily avoidable.
