So X05 is all but done. Journalists from all over, using X05 as a very good excuse to consume naturally grown, occassionally hallucinogenic drugs legally, are heading (or about to head) home. I'd like to make this as objective and troll-free as possible, but this is a public message forum, so lets just throw that out the window right now.
Since the dreadful MTV 'unveiling', past E3, through the summer, beyond the mediocre XBox Summit, through TGS, all I've been hearing from X-Box fans is "Wait until X05".
So, realistically, was it worth it? Was it the event to cement the system as a serious contender? Did the event change your overall opinion of MS' potential juggernaut, or did it confirm the ever-mocked/much despised 'X-Box 1.5' moniker? Did it restore any faith in MS' questionable PR these last few months?
I hate to say it, but from the hype *admittedly from many here* I expected X05 to be much more important. Again, when you hear "wait until X05" for a solid 4 and a half months, naturally expectations rise. Unless I missed something significant, the biggest pieces of news to me involved the Too Human Trilogy (which looks terribly generic, IMO) and id making it's first game for a console from the ground up.
So what do you guys think? Was X05 worth the wait and hype, or did it feel you with an overall apathetic feeling?
Naturally I expect the usual responses from the Sony fanatics and Xbots, but I hope to get some real objective comments.
Personally, I've been on the fence regarding the 360. Hearing all of this "alpha" and "beta" kits talk, combined with the now infamous 'wait for X05' since the 360's unveiling, I was hoping for this to be the show that really drew me in. Sadly, it hasn't... although RR6 looks fucking awesome. It's not enough for me... and a lot of questions I had (backwards compatibility, solid launch line-up, etc.) were not answered.
I'm curious to see the reactions of other people, like myself, that were hoping to be sold on this system from this show... a show that many here heralded as 'the show to prove X360's strength'.
Wait until X06?
