What's wrong with it?Unfortunately the game isn't very good.

Thanks for the confirmation.Folks, can we drop the conspiracy theory insanity? If NeoGAF becomes more and more like the purple forum, don't be surprised if people stop posting here as well.
So no, it's not a shakedown, it's called common fucking sense.
What our community has been wanting the most is Co-Op and Console support, so we want fulfill those wishes as soon as humanly possible. We're already hard at work on Co-Op so people can play Wicked in Multiplayer pretty soon. And after that the idea is that we'll release 1.0 sooner than initially expected so that we don't have to deal with the hassle of being an Early Access Game on Consoles. Wicked is already in a pretty great state, so by the time we exit Early Access, we'll be golden.
And in order to get there fast, we'll first support the platform that has the most users purely out of resource reasons. We're a comparatively small indie studio, so doing a console port at the quality level we want is not a small task. Porting to Xbox means porting to Xbox Series X and Series S and that'll take more time to optimize compared to porting to PS5 and PS5Pro. So we're most likely going to do PS5/PS5Pro first and launch there in order to make fans happy and supply other ports later.
That's literally all there is to it. And yes, we'll need to discuss with Xbox and Nintendo what the best strategies are to support their platforms and their features in the best way possible and that'll be an ongoing discussion.
So there's nothing to see here, it's just common sense with us having to make the right moves given the resources we have while making sure we give players what they want as fast as possible.
It's makes almost as much sense to make a Dreamast port as it does an Xbox port at this point.
A Dreamcast port would probably sell moreIt's makes almost as much sense to make a Dreamast port as it does an Xbox port at this point.
Does that mean your initial scope of 1.0 is limited due to wanting to get it on console sooner? And after that the idea is that we'll release 1.0 sooner than initially expected so that we don't have to deal with the hassle of being an Early Access Game on Consoles.
They have bad blood with Microsoft on top of that.Sounds like a shakedown. They obviously, want Microsoft to foot the porting bill.
Nothing. Game is really good. What's wrong with it?
The funniest thing about this post is, it's coming from a green rat.
This theory has been debunked by the dev but,Sounds like a shakedown. They obviously, want Microsoft to foot the porting bill.
Don't know if I misunderstood your post but the Xbox console won't have Steam OS.
At best it'll have Steam big picture mode, on Windows, alt+tabbed from Xbox App through the Xbox button.
But the more likely scenario is that it'll just launch Steam games through the Xbox App.
Honestly, I feel like Helldivers is just something Sony is doing so they can point to it and say, "Hey, we tried releasing on Xbox and didn't get many sales, so there's no point and trying it, again." Kinda like they did with Horizon Forbidden West and putting it on PS Plus early.News like this just makes it weirder and weirder that Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox
Didn't have performance issues when I played.
It's been a few months though.. did the performance get worse or something?
On Xbox's e-store, there's endless small games. Games so small and also multiplatform on various hardware, you'd think it would be tough for them to do it. Somehow they can figure out making games across PC and consoles.News like this just makes it weirder and weirder that Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox
The choice to convert the Xbox platform into primarily being driven by the PC Windows Xbox SKU is motivated in significant part by the loss of 3rd party support in the future.
Every year will get exponentially worse on the 3rd party front for the traditional Xbox SKU in terms of support going forward.
Nope, don't worry, 1.0 will have the finished campaign and so on. And obviously we'll still be supporting Wicked with tons of updates after 1.0 and also release Expansions afterwards, etc. - The main goal here is to finally allow console players to also hop in and we just want to avoid having to ship an Early Access title on consoles, which would open up a whole new can of worms that we just don't want to deal with.Does that mean your initial scope of 1.0 is limited due to wanting to get it on console sooner?
It's fine either way, one of my favorites games already but hopefully with a 1.0 release and ps5 sales you can keep putting out the content you intended or dreamt of. I could see this being a really fun PVP game when that's finally added.
Which makes me think would current xbox owners just be left for dead with abruptly cut games support or will "xbox PC" at the very least be an update for older consoles too?Makes sense, if the "Xbox pc" is the future of the platform.
The funniest thing about this post is, it's coming from a green rat.
Damn, this thwarts my plan to visit other threads and propose "marketing conditions" as the reason for whatever happenedThere's a link to what was actually said right there in the OP.
The thread title is incorrect.
Tell you didn't read the thread without telling me you didn't read the thread.Better get used to it. There's no reason to support a dying platform.
adamsapple too on the nose?
we want to shoot for super high quality and doing a really good console port that actually squeezes the most out of the hardware just takes quite a bit of time.
This is also Phil Spencer´s Xbox Strike Team:Some of the posts in this thread.. the Devs are doing this to blackmail ms for gamepass money? Come on.
And that page 3 lmao.
Gave me some inspiration.

Well it sucks you have to be put in such place to make those decisions. Personally I am eagerly waiting for the ps5 version and will absolutely be there day 1Folks, can we drop the conspiracy theory insanity? This has really got you triggered huh?Game is a flop, nobody cares.
Playing it after The Breach Refined update I have had nothing but fun. The combat is a bit awkward with the stamina system heavily limiting what you can do (the rune attacks being on a separate system helps) but elemental infusions and hard hitting attacks are really cool. Granted, I am often thrown off by getting hit when I think I am outside the reach of an enemy's weapon at mid range but long range and close range battles are dope. The gear customization is impressive despite most of the systems not being explained. Just a week ago I learned that I can change an enchantment or curse on gear with Fallen Embers. (You can even neutralize curse by canceling out irreparable curse with indestructible enchantment with enough rerolls.) I would say the only thing I consistently struggle with is the semi-fixed camera and axis-based movement being at odds when precision is needed.Unfortunately the game isn't very good.

Doesn't care yet makes 2 posts about it in less than 20 minutes. Take your shit take elsewhere.Game is a flop, nobody cares.
Sweet Baby Jesus what a roast. This has really got you triggered huh?
Attacking a fellow gaffers game, a game that released into early access in 2024 with pretty good CCU numbers. Its still in EA. Meanwhile you were stanning for avowed and pretending it's a success, a game from May this year. Go look at its numbers instead, a game you were calling a success, and stop trying to shit on this game just because you're hurting.
I thought all the devs love posting over there, now this piques my interest.Folks, can we drop the conspiracy theory insanity? If NeoGAF becomes more and more like the purple forum, don't be surprised if people stop posting here as well.
Armchair devs on GAF told us that game developers could press a button to down port from the series x to s, what happened?Porting to Xbox means porting to Xbox Series X and Series S and that'll take more time to optimize compared to porting to PS5 and PS5Pro. So we're most likely going to do PS5/PS5Pro first and launch there in order to make fans happy and supply other ports later.
You mean...Phil Spencer´s Xbox Strike team?Armchair devs on GAF told us that game developers could press a button to down port from the series x to s, what happened?
I actually have a gaming laptop mainly use it for rts and vr. It's just not the same experience as a console. I just want to keep my gaming as simple as can be.Build a PC, that's where they're heading from how the talk goes. Then you'll have your fav controller and your achievements and account, even your saves sometimes when it's Play Anywhere. And no waiting for ports it's all there already at least from this generation. And Gamepass is there of course. And PlayStation have their games there as well. And Wicked has already been out for a year on PC.
Will likely cost you a bit more but might be worth it.
Why? Putting games on Xbox seems like a risk these days. Gamepass is the best way to guarantee developers get something out of being on that system. If he was a gaffer he'd be banned for port begging. He clearly wants the GamePass money. Very unprofessional.
Getting the gamepass upfront sum is likely the best way from Xbox.Well lets be honest Xbox gamers are just mainly gamepass customers. These guys actually want to make money not give away their game to freeloaders.
Likely the opposite. GamePass kills games. Is this truethomasmahler ? You want that Game Pass money?
On Xbox. If the devs get a bag of money, hopefully the same as the production cost of the game....just take it.GamePass kills games.
Bag of money vs potential game sales. I wonder how they do the calculations. On Xbox. If the devs get a bag of money, hopefully the same as the production cost of the game....just take it.
On Xbox? It is zero.Bag of money vs potential game sales.
I think for the devs, it should be the production cost of the game (especially for indies). Xbox as a platform is worthless. This is why I still can't believe/understand why Sony will release Helldivers 2 on it.I wonder how they do the calculations.
