Non-Canadians, what do you really think of Canada?

wait...... they only have milk in bags????

No, not only, they have both.

Also, Tim Horton's steeped tea is fantastic, but their food. God, their food. I used to think their breakfast sandwiches were on par with McDonalds, but now the English muffin is usually raw and the egg has turned into a new type of rubber hell.

As a person living in the Philippines, Canada seems like utopia lol

kinda off topic: why do some people dislike/hate Trudeau?

I lived in canada for around 3 years all up. best country - would do it again. But only in one of the resort areas on the west coast or rockies I should add.

the people who really, really dislike the dude are usually american trolls, salty Harper fans, or some other anti government person

but of course like a ton of leaders he also has concrete critics and faults that he needs to address

Spicy italian sandwiches are dope. The paninis are dope, the grilled chicken wraps are dope, sausage BLTs on a Cheese bagel is dope, the toasted everything bagels with garlic and herb cream cheese? Dope. Iced caps are dope, boston creams are dope, coffee is dope, chocolate timbits are dope, so are the glazed. Apple fritters are mm mm dope, chocolate glazed, sprinkled, honey glazed are all dope. The place is just dope. And cheap.

There's a portion of the Canadian population that's extremely right-wing, to the point where they demonize anything associated with the Liberal brand -- Trudeau in particular.

It doesn't help that some of these right-wing elements were in provinces that were screwed over by Trudeau Senior decades ago, when he prioritized national interests over provincial ones.

Incidentally, the right-wing elements in these provinces are extremely different than in other provinces. It was only the previous Prime Minister -- Stephen Harper -- that kept a lid on things.

Their bakery items are a far cry from what they used to be decades ago though. I still remember the bagels and donuts from way back.

They seem cool enough but they should get their inferiority complex in check. Also their diversity cult is good but I thought it was a bit dishonest when they took like 20.000 hand picked Syrian refugees and celebrated it globally like they had made a significant contribution to end the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Still better then most I guess.

When Bush won his second term, I was finishing college and actually went to the government site in order to check my eligibility. Turns out Canada didn't want an inexperienced, non-degree holding American. Things worked out though.

Yeah, the entry requirements for Canada are quite strict regardless. I ended up getting a pass even though I didnt quite have enough points.

Canada isn't a utopia though

we have are own problems he need to truly Iron out

usually people compare us to the US and assume "oh we need not improve" but indeed we have race problems here too, aboriginal problems here as well, and others

of course stuff may not be on the large scale like the US but we need to stop comparing ourselves to our neighbors in order to try and ignore the problems us Canadians must face and change

We get a lot of Canadian visitors here in Las Vegas. They are about as nice and friendly a people you will find. You can usually tell the Canadians at the pools at the big hotels because it's the group of people looking to actually chat up strangers. Girl or boy, doesn't matter. That's my experience anyway.

One the best moments of my life was when my plane from Chicago landed in Toronto after my trip to the US; felt so good to be back on the sane side of the border.

I agree. I am visible minority myself but still can say that the racism that aboriginals experience runs so deep that I feel much closet to being in the majority. In Saskatchewan it is quite bad.

Oh, I see. :)) As a non-Canadian, I thought that int'l media is somehow not showing something that makes Trudeau detestable.

Yes, I understand that there's no such thing as utopia in this world. :)) Canada just seems like one since the recent happenings in my country (Philippines) are... not pleasant.

They gotta keep up their front that they are a utopia to the world.

Internet canadians don't have an inferiority complex compared to when you see them in real life. There's no inferiority complex in the below post. One could say there's an air of arrogance and cockiness, especially when he/she implies that Toronto is a sane haven.

As a Filipino who moved to Canada as a pre-teen, grew up there then has since moved to the UK for work, everyone here keeps asking me why I left Canada. :D

It's got its problems, but justified or not, its reputation is the world's envy.

I live in Michigan and grew up with bagged milk, and had the device to hold it for pouring. You can still find bagged milk in the states, you just usually have to get it through special order/request. When I worked in a grocery store we had it in stock because local restaurants would buy it from us, and even a few people.

Pay is low in Canada. Our currency isn't worth much. Everything is more expensive.

Other than that, Canada is awesome.

I think for the most part Canada is pretty swell. Though I have always wondered... does Canada treat the native/indigenous people of these lands better, worse, or about the same as the US (that is, poorly)?

Why does conservative person hate liberal politician?

Does that really need an answer?

Our track record there is horrific.
