It's crazy how much it smells like smoke in San Francisco right now. Really hope these fires get under control soon. Can't imagine how awful it is for those affected
ABC 7 Report (bay area news) said:SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- The death toll has risen to at least 13 in the wildfires that have triggered massive destruction throughout Northern California.
The winds have died down this morning giving firefighters a break in the battle against major wildfires in Sonoma and Napa counties. But that break comes too late for people who've lost homes, businesses and even their lives to the flames.
Officials in Sonoma County have received 150 missing person reports. Hospitals in Northern California have treated more than 150 patients related to the fires. To report a missing person or receive updated information, call 707-565-3856.
A total of more than 80,000 acres have burned. The two largest fires are both in Napa County, the Tubbs Fire has burned 27,000 acres and the Atlas Fire is at 25,000 acres. There is zero containment on those fires.
At least 1,500 buildings have been destroyed. The fires forced more than 20,000 people to evacuate.
PG&E says 94,000 customers are without power due to the fires, of those 50,500 in Sonoma County
...that sucks a lot Can we please try and put more money into emergency services? More wildfire specialists etc?
Jesus christ. I'll be thinking of you guys.I'm heading up to Santa Rosa now to help visit all the shelters to look for my friends missing mom.

UPDATE, Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m.: The Solano County Sheriff's Office expanded the mandatory evacuation order to include Gordon Valley, Williams, Lambert and Clayton roads.
The mandatory evacuation area in Solano County was expanded Tuesday as the Atlas fire crested the ridge at Twin Sisters Road, north of Green Valley and northwest of Fairfield.
By 3 p.m., the fire had spread across the ridge at Twin Sisters Road, and sheriff's deputies were going door-to-door along the road telling residents to leave immediately, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
School will be cancelled Wednesday for all students in Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District due to concerns about air quality and safety, Superintendent Kris Corey announced just before 4:30 p.m.
None of the evacuations apply to areas within Fairfield city limits, state fire officials said.
My aunt and uncle are near the fire. My aunt and my cousin's husband are trying to convince my uncle to evacuate, but he's being stubborn and doesn't want to go. If I know him, it's because he doesn't want to leave his farm animals behind. They really do need to get out of there; my cousin says the fire just jumped a road close to them. I'm not in the state, so there's nothing I can do to help.
Convince your aunt to leave him. He'll get the point then.
Damn, the fire(s) is still going on? I thought it's over.
9:45 p.m. More Evacuations: Evacuations were conducted on Dry Creek Road in Napa County and the road is now closed from Orchard Ave to Oakville Grade. In addition, evacuations were conducted on Redwood Road, and Redwood Road at the intersection of Browns Valley Road is now closed, the Napa County Sheriff reported.
10:03 p.m. St. Helena warned: St. Helena city officials were encouraging residents to pack bags and get ready for possible evacuation after mandatory evacuations were ordered near Mt. Veeder, about 10 miles south of St. Helena, due to the Nuns Fire. St. Helena police, however, assured residents they are not under an evacuation order.
10:40 p.m. Geyserville area evacuations: New evacuations were ordered in the Geyserville area, including all residences between 1922 Highway 28 and the Russian River, the Sonoma County sheriffs office said. Downtown Geyserville residents are being told to prepare to evacuate in case an order is issued.
12:35 a.m. Sonoma Valley evacuations: The Sonoma County Sheriffs office ordered mandatory evacuations of the following areas: Moon Mountain Road, Mission Way, London Way, Martin Road, Cavedale Road, and Adobe Way. The office also is advising Agua Caliente residents along Hwy 12 between Agua Caliente Road and Madrone Road to pack bags and be ready in case evacuations there are ordered.
5 a.m. Warning for North Bay Hills: Dangerous gusty winds expected Wednesday afternoon prompted the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning for Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties, setting up a tough day for firefighters battling multiple blazes in the region.
The warning will go into effect at 5 p.m. and run until at least 5 p.m. on Thursday. The expected gusty winds and dry conditions will allow fires that started Sunday night and have been burning out of control ever since to spread quickly, meteorologist Charles Bell of the weather service said Wednesday morning.
At elevations of over 1,000 feet in the North Bay hills, winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts over 50 mph, Bell said. In lower elevations, winds will be about 10 to 20 mph going into Thursday afternoon.
The gusty winds could potentially topple some trees and power lines, which of course could cause more fires to start on top of what we already have, Bell said.
5:50 a.m.: Largest veterans home in the United States partially evacuated: Yountville Veterans Home in Napa County has evacuated its skilled nursing facility amid wildfires in the region, according to the department of veterans affairs.
Some residents at the facility have voluntarily evacuated but may return, officials said. No general evacuation has been ordered for the home, which houses about 1,000 disabled veterans from World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom.
6:10 a.m. : More mandatory evacuations in Sonoma County: New evacuations ordered were issued overnight for the Bennett Valley neighborhood in Santa Rosa and Geyserville.
Evacuations are also in place for the area of Annadel Heights in Santa Rosa, bordered on the north by Parktrail Drive and on the west by Summerfield Road.
People must evacuate from downtown Geyserville, Palomino Road, Asti Ridge Road and Highland Ranch Road.
Residents in other areas of Geyserville must evacuate the following streets: Nutter Road, Sellers Road, River Road, Fay Ranch Road, Ridge Oaks Road, Fox Ridge Road, Vineyard Road, Woodridge Road, Deerpath Drive, Ram Hill Road, Rockmouth Road, Colony Road, Lakewood Lane and Porter Creek Road.
Residents between the 1900 block of Highway 128 and the Russian River were also advised to evacuate.
7 a.m. Mandatory evacuations ordered overnight in Napa County: Cal Fire issued new evacuations orders Wednesday morning for all residents north of Grant Street in Calistoga as wildfires threatened the Napa County town.
Evacuees were advised to leave south on Silverado Trail to Zinfandel Lane and west to southbound Highway 29. Napa County Sheriffs officials asked that residents contact loved ones before leaving due to limited cell service. Check in with neighbors and carpool if necessary, authorities said.
A shelter for evacuees has been set up at Napa Valley College on Napa Vallejo Highway.
The remainder of Calistoga is under advisory alert and evacuations are voluntary.
As officials continue to assess the damage caused by Canyon Fire 2, all but a few residents have been allowed to return to their homes Wednesday morning thanks to increased containment of the 8,000-acre blaze.
Crews currently have the fire 45 percent contained and expect to have full containment by Saturday, fire officials stated in an incident update Wednesday morning
Evacuation orders for all areas except the houses off Windes Drive, north of Santiago Canyon Road in the City of Orange, have been lifted and the evacuation centers have closed.

Air quality in Oakland today seems much worse than yesterday, wonder if that indicates that there are higher winds like on Monday.
The offshore gales that propelled massive blazes in Wine Country will return Wednesday night and Thursday, increasing the risk of fires in the North Bay, according to the National Weather Service.
At least 17 people were killed and up to 3,000 structures were leveled after the fires erupted late Sunday, tearing through northern Santa Rosa, the Wine Country and elsewhere in the North State.
And the ravaged areas are still vulnerable. Forecasters issued a red flag warning for the North Bay hills from 5 p.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday, and for the East Bay hills from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday.
A cold front is bringing winds expected to hit 30 mph or stronger, with gusts up to 45 mph, especially in the hills. The winds will be coming from the northeast rather than the typical onshore pattern off the ocean.
The weather service warned that any fires that ignite will escalate rapidly, and asked people to refrain from outdoor burning. The blustery winds could topple power lines and touch off new fires, the weather service warned.
10:45 a.m. Some Fairfield residents advised to pack a to-go bag in case fire spreads: Volatile and gusty winds in Solano County are expected to begin about 11 a.m. and could spread the Atlas Fire to neighborhoods in Fairfield, according to a statement from the city police department. The fire is about 3 miles from city limits close to the Eastridge and Rancho Solano neighborhoods.
All residents in the Eastridge and Rancho Solano neighborhoods are encouraged to pack a Ready-to-Go bag with all essential papers and medicines and be prepared to leave on short notice, the police advisory said. There is no evacuation notice at this time.
Just got awful news about my friend. Her mom didnt make it. They found her remains, in sorry to say. I feel crushed. How awful.
The evacuation area in Solano County expanded into the Eastridge development in southwest Fairfield Wednesday afternoon when an advisory evacuation order was issued by the Fairfield Police Department about 12:35 p.m.
An evacuation center is open at the Allan Witt Sports Complex at 1741 W Texas St, police said.
Residents in the Rancho Solano neighborhood were urged Wednesday morning to pack a bag with important documents, medications and other essentials should it become necessary to flee.
"Even though the fire is approximately 3 miles from the Fairfield city limits near the Eastridge and Ranch Solano neighborhoods, the community is expected to enter a critical wind and weather event," the Solano County Sheriff's Office wrote in a statement at 11:24 a.m.
