Online sales aren't considered 'digital'?

Sales of physical products through online retailers (e.g. Amazon, Newegg etc.) aren't considered digital, no.

I actually have a bit of a pet peeve with the term "digital sales", since a Blu-Ray disc is also a digital format. =P I prefer to call them downloads sales (when referring to game purchases, at least).

One day, thanks to 3D printers, we'll download hardware as well, and then digital sales will be ALWAYS relevant in every context. One day, my friend. One day.

Printing an IC will be something really impressive, but one day.

Sony has just said that PS4 was the top selling next-gen platform in November for "both hardware and software" per NPD.

I wonder if they're doing the same thing that MS usually does, i.e. not considering handhelds. Still, congratulations PS4!

EDIT: I read it uncorrectly. So, it seems they're not including handhelds. Waiting for all PRs...

Well that's that

and I guess this also means 3ds is again the highest selling..no surprise there I suppose

Software? That's unthinkable. I'd say impossible. Does Kaz have a T-16? Anyone know?

Edit: Oh, missed the "next-gen" qualifier. Quite expected, carry on.

Yes. We know this. But by how much?

Exactly! I thought chemistry had a lot of nomenclature...

NPD tracks USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand sales.

These reports refer only to USA sell-through, though.

Just for posterity sake since I haven't played the game in years and missed the cutoff.

[360] 930,000
[3DS] 1,150,000
[PS3] 670,000
[PS4] 1,200,000
[PSV] 160,000
[WIU] 320,000
[XB1] 880,000

I've fluctuated back and forth on One finally settling on a high month, but their initial launch was spread among a fair amount of countries. With the UK getting around 200,000. PS4 I think I've got within 100,000 units. They had 1 million for NA alone at launch. I'd expect US to get around 90% of that allotment unless they gave a few too many to Canada. Leaving the rest of November to get out another 300,000 units. I expect within a few hours to know PS4 had by far the largest launch in dedicated gaming consoles.

edit: Huh... so 3DS sold better. 2DS must have helped.

Dunno if they're making a handheld or console distinction. They said platform, not console.

It's weird actually. It said "next-gen platform". Isn't 3DS a next-gen platform? Does it mean 360 top the November sales?

I think 3DS > 360 because, while BF could have been massive for both of them, 3DS should have easily outsold 360 for the rest of the month. Let's see if I'm wrong, though.
