Really Prine, i would have never guessed this coming from you. I think you're trying to contend for COCKLES spot as master Xbot.

GBA: 1.2 mil
PS2: 650,000
Xbox: 600,000
GC: 275,000
DS: 500,000

ms didnt get their ass kicked last year. by the end of the christmas rush, nintendo had only led by either 10k or 100k. i'm leaning toward the smaller number.

I usually don't comment in sales threads, but what's with people reporting 500k-600k for DS in NPD? Walmart sales aren't included I thought. So it would be under that, no?

It's a nice, round number. Probably be more like 450,000, but still.

Besides, I think WM sales are estimated in.

I honestly don't think there are enough PS2s out there to sell over 600K...

I mean, we got two or three shipments in during November, and I don't think any of them contained more than six units, one I know specifically had just four.

Yes and no. Walmart is not part of NPD, however NPD uses some statistical analysis/forecasting to account for Walmart sales.

Nintendo says that the MK GCN bundle has sold more than 250,000 units since it was launched 2 weeks ago. Assuming this is correct, how many total GCN consoles do you guys see being sold for the entire month of November?

Why is that so hard to believe? It's already happened a few times this year, and Halo 2 came out in November.

Yeah, and GTA came out for the PS2 at the end of October, MSG3 came out in November, plus R&C3, Jak III, etc, etc, etc.

The first time the Xbox outsold the PS2, the PS2 was priced $30 more.
The second time the Xbox outsold the PS2, the PS2 was in short supply.

IF it happens again it will only be because there weren't enough PS2s in stock (which I don't think will happen because there are plenty on store shelves everywhere I go unlike earlier in the year). It won't be because of Halo 2.

I haven't seen a PS2 in weeks and I've really, really looked. However, Xbox seems to be in pretty short supply up until last week as well, so it's really hard to realistically guess at how many of either were sold.

Yeah, I don't know where you live JC, but there are NO PS2s around here, and the ferver their absence is creating reminds me of when the console launched back in 2000. People are getting crazy trying to find them in stores.

GBA - 1,200,000
PS2 - 650,000
XBX - 600,000
GCN - 500,000
NDS - 500,000

I live in MD. My local Best Buy had a huge stack of them yesterday.... like one huge block comprised of 50+ systems. They might have just received a shipment. The Target down the street had some in stock as well.

The figures Nintendo gave were for the one week of sales. With DS launching on the 21st, they may have got more shipments in time for the 30th. If so, I predict:
GBA - 1.42M
DS - 560,000
ps2 - 740,000
xbox - 680,000
GC - 430,000

Nintendo will sell the most hardware.

It's gonna be interesting. There are lots of wildcards out there: How did the shortages play in? What game helped move more hardware, Halo 2 or GTA:SA? Will Nintendo fans/kids/parents buy the DS at the expense of the Cube?

I think XBox and PS2 are gonna be very close, with the Cube at about 50%. I could care less about handheld, either Nintendo will sell a shitload or a shitton, one or the other.

It is an honor.

Just look at this thread, pretty much agreeing with my prediction

fuck me, i'm revising my predictions.

GBA: 1.2 million
PS2: 1.1 million
Xbox: 850,000
GC: 350,000
DS: 500,000

GBA 900k
DS 750k
PS2 700k
XBX 680k
GCN 250k

The PS2 shortage didn't help XBX because MS didn't plan on the resulting excess demand.
