November Wrasslin |OT| CM Punk's Countdown to RESPECT

Now, let me be clear. I am not saying that Jerry Lawler, CM Punk, Paul Heyman, Mick Foley and everyone else involved were forced to do anything that they didn't want to do. They weren't. It was pitched to them, and they did it. And most certainly, Punk will get "real heel heat" from it. Whatever that is in 2012.

With that said, it came across as desperate and lowest common denominator to me. To use a man's near death (with footage of him getting chest compressions while on death's door) as a way to get heel heat, or in any way on a TV show frankly, just feels wrong to me. Actually, it feels despicable.

And desperate.

Hey, they are trending on Twitter! They are getting noticed in a "look at me, please, PLEASE??????????" kind of way.

When you have something people can't wait to look at, they look.

When you don't, you do something reprehensible to get them to do so. For a few minutes at least.

WWE did something despicable. The sad thing is, even they don't get how bad it was because five minutes later Michael Cole was saying it was time to forget what Punk just did, let's watch the tag match.

That is how sad and clueless that WWE creative process has gotten. A near death experience is a transition spot, to use wrestling terms.

I feel a little dirty right now. I really do.

I will have a lot more to say on this on tomorrow's hotline.

Also, haha Amy Shumer says hello

Even if they have to rig it (it probably is anyway), I hope Miz gets on. It would be the most interesting storywise when presented with those choices :/

I got grudge sucked!
Even working the heart attack into an angle isn't as bad as the Billy and Chuck marriage. Or did we forget that? Imagine how tasteless that would be now

He does, but that doesn't mean the angle wasn't despicable and probably one of the worst things they can do creatively.

And Punk will still be the most over person in the triple threat. Instead of fixing the Cena problem, they created another problem with Punk. One can't get cheers, the other cant get boos.

They already went heel on Veteran's Day. Randy Orton was out there in the opening match

As a Marine, I'm not insulted. Everyone makes mistakes. I will say that he didn't learn anything necessarily from the experience, judging by his last DVD and the feedback off his peers.

Hopefully, he'll grow up.

And if Punk ever made a promo like that, I'd quit watching WWE until Vince McMahon died. I though the last two Jerry the King angles were in bad taste (despite his willingness to take part in them) and so were the numerous J.R. ones.

I'd like to think that this company will be better off after Vince McMahon's dead, but it's just gonna get taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family.

I'm fine with the in-ring stuff since Lawler was in on it. Not a fan of the backstage video footage from the night of the heart attack though. As a photojounalist, I'm not sure how anyone could stand there and record footage as that's going down. But I guess that makes them a real professional.

Like I said this angle won't have a middle. Its either was good or horrible. The discussion on each side will be interesting.

I do think people here forget what the WWE did during the attitude era and make out this is the worse thing ever. Does everyone forget Brian Pillman's wife interview, in 97 getting heat is pretending to be gay and getting f****t chants, people being crucified, katie vick, Eddy is in hell, and Trish barking like a dog.

I thought it was hilarious because it was the last thing I ever thought the E would do given how nothing is offensive lately. You know that kids and the simple minded WWE fans think Punk and Hayman are the meanest no good nothings in the world. It wasn't the greatest thing in the world but I've seen way worse from wrasslin.
