Speaking of Rock. What three matches would you rank as his best?
  • First WrestleMania match against Austin
  • Final WrestleMania match against Austin
  • WrestleMania 18 against Hogan
I actually think his WM17 match against Austin is the worst of the three Austin matches, plus it has the worst ending.

See, I would list his match with Hogan in there as well but I wanted someone else to step out saying that to see if they would get shot first.

His Final with Stone cold works on emotion alone. That match eats me up everytime.

Especially that post match moment 😢😢😢

The look he and Hogan give eachother before the match is what wrasslin is all about

Hogan vs Rock at WM18 is probably the best example of crowd working in professional wrestling. That crowd was fucking lit for that match and both of them played right into it. That pop when Hogan kicks out of the Rock Bottom and starts Hulking Up is one of the biggest pops I've ever seen - I'd maybe put it second only to the pop that happens when Austin's music hits during Foley's Raw title win.

Not sure what order I would rank them but for me:

Mr. Perfect
Ric Flair
Stone Cold
Rock
Bret Hart

...would make my list.

Speaking of Rock. What three matches would you rank as his best?

The Rock VS Stone Cold Steve Austin- Wrestlemania X-7
The Rock VS Kurt Angle VS The Undertaker- Vengeance 2002
The Rock VS HHH (Ladder Match)-Summerslam 1998

(There are some one-on-ones with Angle and Jericho that are probably better than the Ladder Match, but its the best match of probably my favourite iteration of the Rock. Its definently worth a watch).

The Rock is ok, he is very charismatic and all that. He is not in my top 10, maybe not even in my top 15, but I can see why so many put him on top.

IT'S HAPPENING

I feel like Wrasslin' Top 10s are pretty arbitrary, especially when it's of all time. Rock & Austin would still be in my Top 5 of all time though but I'm fairly young and didn't watch much WCW.

I wasn't even a big Hogan fan growing up and I still marked out massively for that moment.

The only way it could have been better is if Hogan suddenly did some DBZ-esque transformation and was suddenly red/yellow Hogan.

Angle doesn't crack my top 10. His TNA run kinda killed it.

Angle's probably #11 for me. He'd probably be in my top 10 if he stayed in WWE, I do agree his TNA run hurt him overall

So I didn't watch Raw last night. What happened? Is Goldberg actually chasing a title or is he entering the Royal Rumble or something?
Yeah he announced he's going into the rumble. And will probably win if WWE see them ratings as a goldmine.

Universal Champ Brock Lesnar incoming for that main-event rematch at Wrestlemania.

Like he rips off his pants like he's in the NBA and the red/yellow pants are already on, I'd mark out and also find that fucking hilarious.

behind curtains, he signed extended contract.

last night, confirmed he will be at rumble.

Goldberg in the Rumble is basically a perfect spot for him.

And, you know what, fuck it. If Goldberg actually committed to a short run with the company again, I'd be okay with him getting a world title belt. God forbid we actually have a champion who can draw, look tough in the ring, and (shockingly) talk.

Like he rips off his pants like he's in the NBA and the red/yellow pants are already on, I'd mark out and also find that fucking hilarious.

Yes, exactly this.

Honestly the moment already is a perfect mark out moment that's also hilarious. Because it's Hogan doing the Hulk Up, and Rock's face clearly shows that he, in fact, did not contemplate what he would do should Hulkamania decide to run wild on him.

Hulkamanian God Hulkamanian. The Rock's career would've ended right there due to a whole new level of no sell.

Not to mention Rock would have probably killed himself trying to sell that.

He says he has one last title run in him

So either he actually goes for it, or Brock costs him in the rumble and gets him out of the title picture

Or Brock berries Owens at the rumble, Goldberg wins the rumble, and we have our mania main event :)

Goldberg vs AJ Styles as the main event of WrestleMania

I can dig it.

I really hope they don't do an angle where Brock screws over Goldberg.

What if Goldberg getting over was HHH's plan all along to get another 'Mania main-event? HHH beats Owens for the title, beats Lesnar at the next PPV in a title match, Goldberg wins the rumble so they face each other and then...

All-Time Top 5:

Randy Savage
Arn Anderson
The Rock
Hulk Hogan
Steve Austin

5 is such a small number but if I had to pick the 5 wrestler's I've enjoyed most over the years, it would probably be (in no order):

Austin
Rock
Michaels
Jericho
Perfect

Bret really needs to be there but I can't replace any of these 5 with him.

Goldberg deserves that fucking belt (and he IS getting it) and I do not care what his naysayers think.

He can draw and he gets the pops. This shit just needs to be simple fun and the dude delivers. It may be limited in scope but that's why a limited run, booked right, can work.
I agree. if Haitch can hold the main title for 70 days then Goldberg certainly can.
Champion Goldberg, no matter how much work he does getting into shape is not really going to be capable of putting on matches that go longer than 10 minutes and keep it entertaining. People are always going to be hyped for him though, people WILL buy RR for Goldberg, people WILL buy Mania for Goldberg.
He ultimately needs to put someone over though. Brock, Taker, Goldberg, Haitch and eventually Cena really need to put some of these young wrestlers the hardcore fans are hyped about over and make them look like a new generation. If Joe and Nakamura aren't up by RR then that is the time to do it. Can you imagine the hype for a RR where you could potentially see Shinsuke, Joe, Goldberg, Styles, KO, Zayn, Rollins, etc. in the ring at the same time?

Instead it'll be Big Show & Kane throwing all your favourites out early.

I still think Goldberg in the Rumble is just to get eyes on the PPV and he'll rematch Brock at Mania.

I'm not sure what my top 5 looks like but Austin is definitely number 1. The dude had EVERYTHING. Perfect look, god tier promo, a real wrassler' not that fake imaginary athletics shit, and was in the greatest match ever contested in that 20 by 20. Also never did the J.O.B. to that Barney looking jabronie tanking the company for the last 10 years.
