It's earned, though. It wouldn't be satisfying without an entertaining character, a talented performer, the logical foil (beer-swilling Stone Cawld), and the necessary milk-related backstory (>_>).

Why don't people have signs as much these days? I assumed they were mostly confiscated - is that the case? Cos that member Goldberg is decent, as far as wrestling signs go. There are only three signs in that picture of about 100 people though.

Is it cos all these god damned millenials are too busy filming everything with their phones? They don't have the spark of 'maybe i'll bring a sign along and see if i can get it on tv'?

Is it cos they don't care enough about the wrestlers to bring signs?

I think that was the show where Stephanie compared the 9/11 attack to the federal government going after Vince during the steroid lawsuit?


Did they do a second tribute show the following RAW? I forget. I dont think I was able to watc raw back then. Had to make do with those recap shows Sky had on Saturday mornings

Then Booker T came out, and the crowd popped.

I'm just skimming through Nitros besides the Goldberg matches, but everyone in NWO comes off as a geek besides Hogan, Hall and Nash. is that how it felt watching at the time?

It came across as everybody getting on the hype train. Even as a youngin i thought all these dudes jumping was feeling a bit much.

ALso hogan is the ULTIMATE geek. His NWO run felt like an old guy trying to be cool, especially Wolfpac Hogan

I remember the irresistible Data West making a good argument for Hollywood Hogan being a great champ.

But boy were his long-winded promos too much. Especially when there were two or three on the same show.

Hogan actually loses more during the NWO days than he did his entire WWF and WCW run combined. It's just that when he loses he still wins.

I like the B team theme a lot.

Because the NWO still won when they lost and just ran on for too long that you never had a "babyface rules the company" era post-hogan that didn't have hogan involved somewhere

when I throw around the word geek, I'm talking about guys who are just useless. I don't care about what they have to say nor do I care about their matches.

hogan's promos are usually cringe and ridiculously try hard, but in the end he's still hulk fuckin hogan. I at least care about what he has to say and, in 1998, beating him means something.

not the case for like 80% of the other NWO members. at least someone like scott steiner just joined I care about. he cut his hair and dyed it blond! big poppa pump is born!




it's clear that the NWO was super fucking over. everyone had the shirts in the crowd. they'd pop for the NWO members. they'd pop for TOO SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET. but they just did a bad job making us care about anyone other than hogan, hall and nash, I feel.
