But Sony won't even release Bloodborne on their own console... what makes you think they'd bring it to Switch 2?

I would legit rebuy any Ratchet game they dropped on switch. I LOVE those games and having them properly portable would be awesome. Especially the OG trilogy since the vita version was kinda ass.

I thought about Astro Bot as well, but while on the surface it seems like a perfect fit, the game is essentially a celebration and a walk down memory lane of PlayStation's history. So I'm not sure if it would have the same emotional resonance to Switch owners than it did for PS owners.

They are not going third party at all. This is for live service games, since they need a big user base to be successful.

What worries me most, is that they are still thinking about live service games in the first place. They just don't learn. How many Concords do the need? (And Marathon is looking to go in that direction too).

If they do release on other consoles, it will be for smaller games or licensed ones.

I don't buy the premise of this thread. Sony doesn't show signs of truly going "third party" any time soon.

With that said, I would rebuy Bloodborne on any platform. And they have lots of legacy IP I wouldn't mind revisiting, like inFamous, Killzone, etc. The Monkey's Paw Principle says I can expect all of those golden oldies to be locked behind a subscription or something (looking at you, Nintendo).

Now that Sony's planning to go to third party, what games or franchises would you like to see ported to Nintendo Switch 2? (Pick 3)

SIE is the market leader in consoles (also counting Nintendo) regarding userbase, revenue or profit and are breaking records in many areas. PlayStation also has the majority of the console market share when also counting Nintendo. So obviously they will continue being the PlayStation first party publiher during several generations.

Regarding Sony also being a 3rd party publisher in gaming platforms not owned by them, they always did it since 1983 but it's something secondary since they got the PS1.

I think you won't get any mainline entry of the IPs you mentioned in Switch 2. If something, even if I highly doubt it, they may try again another kids focused adaptation as did with the failed Lego Horizon.

I think Swith 2 will get just MLB and some other dead, low selling kid friendly IP licensed to Bandai Namco if the 3 announced ones work well enough. They may do the same with maybe Gravity Rush, LocoRoco or Parappa specially close to a potential movie/tv show/anime they could release in the future.
