What software is driving the Vita for this Christmas season? I have a Vita. I like it. But let's be honest, there's not much in the library that is causing people to jump in.

Strangely there are much better Vita deals this holiday than 3DS. Where are the discounted XLs with pack in games? Nintendo seriously think they're going to set things on fire with just Paper Mario?

Nope. Just saying I expect Wii U demand to be off the charts until March, so imagine adding a hot seller like that. Sales-age wet dream kind of stuff.

Does Forza ever do well in the US? It's doing amazing in the UK, I wouldn't worry too much for it.

That's the most disheartening takeaway for me. It's an amazingly well done game, but this might not bode well for future iterations.
Dishonored fared a little better than I thought it would. Seems in line with DXHR and Bioshock numbers. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda expected a lot more. They seemed to have had really weird expectations for Rage considering it didn't even have actual shooter multiplayer.
RE6 probably made a lot more money for Capcom than it should have, but it is nice that it didn't land at #1.

And whats going to move the Vita this Christmas? because I sure as hell can't see anything on the release list that'll change current trends.
the 3ds with just the mario games from last year will be more appealing over xmas than the vita.

Nintendo needs to make money on the 3DS to offset WiiU losses. Going to be some serious pressure on upper management if they end up losing money for second consecutive fiscal year.

When did I ever say it wasn't? Vita is a non factor at this point; Nintendo has much bigger issues to deal with in regards to the 3DS.

I would imagine, heck, i'm certain a game like Xcom doesn't have the quarter of the budget as a Halo 4.
And I don't think Dishonored had an insane budget, it was in development for a while. But visually it's an underwhelming game, not to mention tons of areas are reused over and over.

The only thing I've seen so far for 3DS is the normal 3DS + SM3D Land bundle at 149$ at Best Buy which is...probably much more attractive than Vita+Cod at 199$ XD and it's a good deal, very cheap.
but I'm seriously surprised by the lack of widespread initiatives with 3DS XL. Europe is getting Pikachu XL and the Mario Kart 7 bundle, I was expecting a lot more from Nintendo themselves. Ok, there's the 3DS XL priced 169.99 $ at KMart, but where's the NSMB2 bundle?!?

I think so, yes. Nowhere near where it needs to be, but 100K should be obtainable.
If it isn't, Sony should take it out back and give it the Old Yeller treatment. If your platform-- which is still relatively new-- can't break 100K during the busiest month of the year, then it's time to hang it up.

I think there's a large possibility no one goes for any of those bundles offered and it only hits like 90k.
Edit: And if it doesn't hit 100k with 199 bundles available it's not even worth it to support a platform that can't hit 100k in November.

Digital downloads aren't counted. Bet most of its target demographic are steam gamers. 114k, not including any downloads, probably means good numbers.

Two of MS biggest franchises not even in the top 10. Kinect has sold millions and Fable 3 was 4th on the NPD chart when it came out but it seems no-one wants a Fable Kinect game.

forza was never big and fable kinect is not even a real spinoff so of course it will bomb.if fable journey was a reg playing game it will sell even if it wasn't called fable 4.

Again, given the genre and the series, it's a safe assumption that its sales are way more heavily skewed towards PC downloads than most multiplatform games.

I think Nintendo is going to be a in rough position financially for a while. They have the 3DS which will be making tons of money in Japan and less money elsewhere, but at the same time Wii U will be eating into all their money and they have develop expensive HD games now. For there sake I hope NSMBU is a big success.

Do have the top 10 broken down by SKU? And racing games don't sell that well in the US. Pick any racing game and you'll see the majority of sales are from Europe.
