It's a baseless comment tbh. Xbox would need to win literally all around the world for Sony to stop being so called "complacent" but unlike Xbox which has to really focus on USA, I think there's a larger scope Sony has to take into consideration rather than just USA.

If these numbers are true than not that big of deal considering Sony would make up this gap with just 1 week of PS4 Japan sales.
So essentially a tie? and I can bet the MCC bundle and trade in deals helped the One. Good shit to the One. But a 13K dent into the PS4 lead barely registers.

Numbers going to be shite until August for both systems. Perhaps a bump for PS4 in June but that is it.

Uhh what the hell are you on about man. That's damn close to last year's April figures (13% drop YoY). April is always a really slow month. The way you are carrying in you'd think sales dropped to WiiU levels. Slow your roll there bud.

I gotta give Phil and co. credit. They are fighting back and teasing a truely epic E3 showing. Seems like they're ditching their third party reliance and doubling down on Xbox franchises and new IP.
Sony is keeping quite, they havent even formally announced when their conference is yet, and they have some amazing co-marketing deals for this fall but they really need to show off what all their first party studios are working on.
And Nintendo is bringing back the damn Nintendo World Championships!

Being monthly means it's a big rush of big numbers. That and what allan said about PAL not having any numbers (GfK be brutal) and Japan being dead.
On the bright side they probably combined all consoles so this gives us a rough last gen number. 18, 36 and 71 is what they did last year. Sucks that the last one wasn't 72.
Maybe they want to play with it now? Just a random thought....

Sony has nothing to go up vs Halo 5, Forza 6, Gears HD, & Tomb Raider this holiday.
I think PS4 will win May June with the Exclusive Batman Bundle but for the rest of the year, Xbox should lead due to a great showing of real exclusives coming out soon
Its just that Xenoblade is such an odd case, the original had a limited release as a retail exclusive in NA. With Shulk in Smash Bros, Xenoblade X, and the N3DS release I wonder how much are they trying to push Xenoblade into a franchise, and what expectations they had for each respective title.

Sony has released more exclusive content and secured more exclusive deals than MS by a considerable amount over the last six months, but *they're* complacent? This is the stupidest narrative. Lol. Some of your posts are so exaggerated. We haven't hit E3, and from what I can see, the Batman bundle is going to clean up that month, easily. Perhaps that impacted some of the sales in other retailers?
The PS4 is still selling better most of the time, and at a damn close game for this month, while being more expensive. You're using extrapolation wrong.

Yea, these number are just shocking to me because of how much last gen's market leader (the Wii) was pulling in per month.
But man, potentially only a 13k difference?
When was the last time this gen that the NPD difference was that low?

I think what surprises myself and others is how did it manage to sell more? Even at 13k, how did it happen? I'm still curious. The Show and Bloodborne were released.

I totally agree. But we don't know what kind of requests Ninty may have made. Maybe they wanted exclusivity in JPN, or gamepad features, or a mario version...I'd love to know.
It's not a great win by any means, but you have to think Microsoft needed that non holiday victory to show that they could seemingly compete outside of 2 months.
I mean let's face it. Worldwide in April the PS4 probably sold at least twice as much as the Xbox One.

Not to take anything away from Microsoft but the gap seems small this month going from what everyone is guessing about the numbers. Not surprising as April was kind of slow on new releases.
I actually like how some games have more sales on Xbox One than PS4 and vice versa. It's more interesting than one platform completely dominating North American third party sales.
