Nope. For the last 3 months Microsoft has been doing the "Best selling console" loophole to get away with still claiming victory.
The definition used here is console vs handheld. 360 won consoles (or aka home consoles) and 3ds won hardware overall

This gen is dead. Let's hope that PS4 & X1 reiginite sales traction, although I think they will.
It's pretty hard going out at the end of the gen, especially if you don't have something that's got super hype behind it.

Well relatively speaking it bombed on every platform. And he didn't specify exactly what he meant. CoD Ghosts and Watch_Dogs may be a better barometer anyway. We'll see.

If the overall sales are low per SKU and Wii U SKU sells with a decent attach rate, does that matter at all? Or is it still bad for Wii U support?

Two things against Nintendo releasing a press note.
3DS is down YOY since last year they released 3DS XL + New Super Mario Bros. 2.
Pikmin 3 + New Super Luigi U (retail) probably didn't lift Wii U hardware sales.

Last year, one week of 3DS XL + NSMB2 was counted, let's remember that. Still, maybe it obtained to stay flat, due to AC momentum + Black 3DS XL + M&L.

Glad to see Splinter Cell sitting at number 4, but disappointed it wasn't higher. I wish we could learn what percentage of the Madden sales were the pre-ordered Madden / Sunday Ticket offering.
Hardware wise, I am still amazed with these kinds of numbers we aren't seeing actual "price cuts" for the 360 or PS3.

It has not in the past. I can't promise that's true today.
i don't know. everyone, their mom and their uncle have a ps3 or 360 already. GTA might push hardware sales slightly over 100k again but the market is saturated

But going back to history in launches, isn't it the norm that current gen consoles beat the new ones in sales? This gen has gone too long, maybe this pattern will change this time or maybe the industry is fucked.
