That is totally because of the Vita right? I mean it had a big part in that right?

tumblr_lwtvl4uL211qizvnso1_500.gif

Looks like Vita declined a bit (159 * 1.71 = ~272), and it was 10k last year in March :/

Why did you leave out dreamcast?

This got me :p

It's closer to 1.6m

Awww, I was hoping MS were running out of time. Will be fun when the streams between XB1 and 360 finally cross though

Yeah, it would be a miracle for the PS4 to outsell the Xbox One in Halo 5s launch month. But if Sony secured marketing for Battlefront then that may be the only month Microsoft gets this year.

I thought someone said Sony already secured Battlefront marketing deal in another thread. I might be wrong though.

Yeah, looks like it did okay but nothing more, even in Japan it did "okay" sales too. Wonder how I'll do on PC/Steam if it ever gets ported there, even FFXIII did over 300K on Steam.

Cor blimey those $13 sales must have SE suits wanking each other off in excitement with what Type-0 will manage on PC.
Type 0 was a cheap cash in, the game is a handheld through and through but SE thought they would get away thanks to throwing in a demo. Thankfully for consumers it didn't

Not really, Microsoft could decide to make stronger subsidy.

they can't, really. The Xbox as a project needs to be able to stand on it's own- the era of Microsoft throwing away hundreds of millions on it to gain the living room are done- and MS has a lot of competition in the mobile and search space it needs the capital for.

It's no longer core to MS's plans as an organization- subsidizing the shit out of it and selling it at a massive loss simply isn't going to happen. There were already noises about selling the brand.

Nah, it's comparing revenue.

Also, does NPD not count PSTV as a "handheld" by combining with normal Vita? They were 60k last month. Should be 60k+ this month I bet

I believe they can and holiday 2014 shows how agressive they can be.

This rumors about selling the brand is not from people on command.

I think when it's all said and done, the XB1 will be number one in the US by a few million.

PS4 being #1 is the safer bet as of right now (as I said before) but what you said is possible too. We don't know all of the deals that will happen, as well as what may become the new game(s)/IP(s) that will be mainstream crazes in the future years.

They will get louder when investors start getting pissed off cause Xbox is sucking up more and more money instead of being on ignore they will start campaigning against it if that's microsoft's only answer.

Holiday 2014 wasn't all that agressive. The price drop was sooner than expected (and Kinect was dead by that point and had to go) but Sony could very easily have matched or exceeded that price point- the PS4 is already profitable on hardware alone.

Sony simply chose not to- because there was no point. They were selling nearly every unit they had to sell during the holiday season, if anecdotal evidence from GAF retailers was correct. a $50-75 price cut wouldn't have actually generated any significant extra sales. it would have been throwing money out of the door for no reason at all.

minecraft as an exclusive, or a new ip of that magnitude would need to happen.

On investors call I never listened a question about Xbox. Microsoft shareholders apparently doesn't pay much attention, is almost like Xbox don't exist.

In fact PS4 is probably > WiiU + 3DS since doesn't nintendo do the thing where they combine all formats and say they won.

...No. Where did you get that BS from?

...There's still the confusion about 3DS and n3DS being combined from last month? XD

I'm just gonna quote Creamsugar from the last NPD thread

BTW, there is no '3DS family', N3DS black, red and MM bundle are just 3 SKUs of 3DS.
PS TV and PS Vita are 2 separated platforms.

I appreciate you backing that up with some facts, percentages, pie charts, and theoretical situations that support your stance. Most people would just come here, make some flash in the pan unsupported 1-line claim and walk away.

Xbox One is more core to Microsoft's plans than ever before, especially with their Windows 10 initiative that they will be pushing hard starting this Summer. They'll do all the price cuts that are necessary to get one in as many homes as possible.

And, about selling the brand, that's all there was: noise. Nothing concrete, just noise.

Yes they ignore it now. If Microsoft's answer to loosing is to go all Sony PS3 on the issue and pump Billions of dollars down the drain just to keep up, they will stop ignoring it and it will get more negative which is bad for the division. The best thing for the division right now is to make no negative waves and continue to be ignored during investment calls.

Was not a price drop only, they gave 2 games for free, one of them a new game.

And I don't think Sony sell every unit they could on holiday, in fact sales should be more stronger for a market leader in US. Xone cleary steal PS4 consumers.

That's only rumors and speculation.

We might know for sure tomorrow when they show the trailer.

I don't think we will hear anything about it tomorrow.
Guess (if Sony has a marketing deal) we will hear something during the E3 Sony Press Conference.
No.1 priority right now -> Batman Bundle
Than, at/after E3 -> Star Wars Bundle

0% chance. PSTV only hit 30k+ last month due to retail clearancing.
