The point that I am brining up is that if you are going to use past data to predict the future then you have to make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. You have to normalize your data before you compare it. If you don't then there could be trends in your data that don't exist in reality. For example you are trying to make the case that a change in game type composition and mobile sales are leading to reduced PS4 and XB1 sales. Well if any reduction in sales can be attributed to the simple fact that the new consoles are less subsidized then there is no need to come up with another explanation.
What we are seeing with these two trends is that if a platform is not pushing boundaries and focusing in on performance, then its offerings will become a commodity. Once that happens its audience can jump to another platform that offers a better value by providing a similar gaming experience in addition to other functionality.

Well that is surprising. I figured Halo was a better brand than Uncharted.
Did Chibi Robo really outsell Disgaea and DQ?
Somewhere, someone is crying that Chibi-Robo outsold both D5 and DQH. But, for D5 at least, that number is probably fine... the numbers on Zestiria and DQH, on the other hand, are not.
Woolly did better than I expected, and Triforce is doing fine for what was likely a 10$ budget. I have no idea what to make of the Chibi-Robo numbers.
It's dire, of anything. Is that good for Tales of Zestiria? Sounds kinda low

No way. This can't be real....
Tales at least had some people migrate to PC.
I commented on Chibi Robo selling more than Disgaea and DQ, but that has more to do with Chibi Robo selling more than I expected lol.
We already have exact numbers!Anyone get exact numbers with the pie?
Yes, PC did considerably better than the PS4 release.
Chibi-Robo probably got hauled up by the amiibo bundle, it certainly didn't have any advertisement aimed at it.

Isn't SteamSpy worldwide compared to the sales here = US? It's hard to say what the sales are worldwide for PS4.
Then again, ToZ had a poorer debut compared to ToX I believe (NPD).
It did 90k world wide and among them only 30% sale was from na
Ie basically 30k
30k for a game which was 10$ less and had a free game for pre order isn't great imo

Wouldn't cream's Zesteria number include the PS3 version?

Steamspy: World
NPD: USA
Tales of series seems in total decline since the release of Tales of Xillia which sold 100,000 units in its first month, just 18,500 units behind Tales of Symphonia.

The Tales series seems to be in decline WW from what I've seen.Tales of series seems in total decline since the release of Tales of Xillia which sold 100,000 units in its first month, just 18,500 units behind Tales of Symphonia.
It should've done better than previous Tales games IMO.TOZ did in line with what tales does even more so if you add in the PC sales .
Wouldn't cream's Zesteria number include the PS3 version?
Maybe it's time for Tales to disappear again in the West for 5 years!
... Or make a better quality Tales gameI don't hate Zestiria but it's incredibly half-assed, compared to Xillia, and Xillia was kinda half-assed too in the end.
Isn't Tales pretty weak on Europe, though?
Yeah, stop. It's 10$ less but the profit margins are higher, too.
Just Let Dance Die
I always felt tales would do better on a Nintendo platform rather then on pc.
YepOnly the most hardcore would buy pay $500 for that bundle.
When chibi robo can beat both d5 and dqh, u know ps4 is not going to be a very nice place for jrpg here.
It should've done better than previous Tales games IMO.
I highly agree. Symphonia did better than Xillia as pointed out above on a much lower install base and a likely less RPG popular system (if you know what I mean, PS3 was the RPG console last gen).
Dawn of the New World did very comparable numbers to Vesperia in NA didn't it?
On top of that, didn't Abyss 3DS sell quite well, especially for being a basic port of a 7 year-old game at the time?
