I know the numbers for XB1 which came on top are 300-350k, do we have any idea about PS4 numbers?
I would estimate the number but that bezel is going to make it annoying. Either way looks to be a bit over 800k. Big decline.
How reliable is that chart?
Someone should put 5 days tracking and potential digital sales in Halo 5 bar.

This being Microsoft's biggest franchise, that has got to sting.
I have a feeling Gears is going to drop in a similar fashion. Just transferring an IP to developers that have had zero involvement in it's original success kills a franchise fast.
xb1 304k
ps4 276k
from earlier in the thread, you'd have to dig. IIRC.
Ah, not as bad then!translation above the graph :
1 week for halo 5
2 weeks for halo 3
3 weeks for others
Is he just tweeting numbers from GAF in a fancy graph or does he have access to the actual NPD data?
It's not a userbase problem stop with that nonsense.Halo 5 selling around the same as TLoU in NPD 0_0
Honestly, Halo 5's decline is more than a user base problem. I also don't buy the other shooters reason as Halo 4 and Reach were going up against COD at its prime.
To be fair I believe the other Halo games had more days tracked. However still looking at a massive drop as sequel sales are more front loaded. I think the issue is Halo 4. Game turned many people away from the Halo franchise.
The PS4 sold less than 300k during a price drop month with a new bundle and a big release? Isn't that pretty damn bad?
How was the PS4 number calculated?
Both numbers are really damn low. Are people holding out for BF or is the age of gaming done?
He's a journalist who has some sources (don't know for NPD though). He's on Gaf I don't want to talk for him but I can say that he's very reliable.
I don't get it. Can somebody polygon'ise this for me?
So in other words it's a completely meaningless graph? It's written at the top (in french). Physical only, one week for Halo 5, two for Halo 3 and three for the others.
Last exit black friday, if you are generous.Does MS have to panic because of Halo 5 selling poorly? Sub 1 mil for a former biggest entwrtainment launch in history franchise does seem bad.
What? It shows H5 had by far the worst opening, sales are extremely frontloaded. So in other words it's a completely meaningless graph?

Hmm I wonder if someone is starting to regret this now

For comparaison sake, Halo sales dropped 78% in UK in its second week.
So in other words it's a completely meaningless graph?
Yep, don't put numbers in a graph which you can't compare. He should of just listed the numbers and the differences between them. Not really meaningless but it's strange to do the graph the way he did because many will just look at the bars and ignore what is written above.
Think your naive to believe that. Many other factors are more likely, such as greater competition, sour taste left by previous games and general franchise fatigue. H5 is one of the best Halo's made, its certainly one of the best MP fps on consoles. It'll have positive WOM to keep it going. And Gears is being made by one of the original leads, if its awesome it'll be fine, the series hasnt diminished due to quality or broken game releases. The spin off to Gears was perhaps a mistake though, I can see that impacting sales, not by much though. This being Microsoft's biggest franchise, that has got to sting.
