I would imagine they were counting both as seperate stores.
Good to see Yoshi charting!
No way, their PR can't be that smart.

Surely people can't be basing Halo 5 selling poorly on just the physical copies? Digital downloads are much more prominent now than at any stage in the past due to infrastructure and peoples download speeds increasing massively since Halo 4. I was on 10mb back in 2012 and downloading a large game would have been out of the question. I'm now on 200mb so this is not an issue for me now and I tend to buy all my games digitally.
You cannot compare past selling numbers with present as it's not like for like. Unless digital numbers are provided then I guess it's all silly just saying Halo 5 sold very poorly based just on physical copies.
Just my thoughts and I know many of you will disagree but hey ho.
PS4 at ~276k is atrocious, why even bother dropping the price? I doubt it would have sold that much less without the price drop, & the BF effect with 100$ less would have been significantly bigger, I know hindsight 20/20 and all that, but that was a useless price drop. It would be a disaster if it doesn't sell 1.2m+ in November.
As a European my response is I wish!
I...what? What are you arguing now?No, but I also gave my point of bundle's. Didn't that do 400-500k? In that scenario, its likely Halo 5 did average when it comes to digital, but the bundle's built it up. Its not that hard to believe it did 1 million digital, and it wouldn't be a big deal.
Not sure why you say this, I just want new game ideas instead of everything being scripted and linear.Lol you're getting baited to hell and back. Best to ignore.
I agree. To assume it's sold bad based purely on physical sales is premature imo. Downloads, no region-locks, likely contribute to the lower number as much as the release of competing games.
It is right there. First week digital sales. I can clearly see it...
You do realise that all those Battlefront and CoD Bundles only affect November numbers, right? All those bundles pre-ordered within the last weeks will kick-in in November. And THEN let's talk about atrocious sales numbers.
Of course they are, that is 100% what they did.No way, their PR can't be that smart.
I...what? What are you arguing now?
No he didn't
Holy crap, I just realized its 3:13 am....
Lara doesn't care since she got the money from MS

Alright then go to sleep man.I'm just giving a point. I said it did 1m digitally, and I gave reasons as to why its quite feasible.
Anyway, quit replying. I really need to go to sleep, and I won't get off because... well... I just can't until this discussion ends.
Not sure why you say this, I just want new game ideas instead of e writing being scripted and linear.
Has to do with a lot. This is the first new halo on a new system. Do you have any idea what that really means?
My whole point is more new ips, more fresh ideas. This is the damn point.
Uncharted is just an example of a game that could eventually tank. Or you wanna wait til it tanks first?
That's bad business sense. But Sony is doing right with guerrilla games imo.
Hope horizon is fun.
God of war remaster mostly tanked, uc ain't doing that well. Yes they are remaster but not all remaster that are wanted do that poorly.
Didn't they do about as good as re remaster? Quite a big difference in game size and money.
But yes, it's damn time for classic resident evil.
Yes if they make a halo 6, they are better off copying destiny and making a "halo worlds" game
Yes you should probably retire for the night..
Let's have less of this inane digital 40% talk. Won't work for Halo, won't work for Uncharted. Only place with insanely high digital is PC, far as I'm concerned.
Lara is in tears.
Square Enix just cheers-
With a bag full of money for a franchise so dear
So 900k physical first week US? For 5 days of tracking, its ok. So 1.3-1.4 million with digital. From what I heard, Halo 5 sold roughly 1 million digitally WW in week 1.
It should be noted all these games had significantly longer time to be tracked. Though yes, around 1/3 of all Halo sales are now digital.
It only had 5 days of tracking. Halo 4 had 4 weeks. This isn't the Halo 3 days anymore. Looking at WW, it did around 3 million FW if you include digital (which now accounts to about 1/3 of all game sales now).
Halo 5 did 1 million digitally!!!! That makes it 2.1 million. Maybe 3 million is a bit high, but 2.5 million certainly seems in range.
Well digitally, Halo 5 did around 1 million week one WW, so it clearly had alot of attraction for the digital crowd.
But hasn't that already been proven. Look, I could be completely wrong. But digital is bigger than you all think. Realistically, these numbers are around 35-40% of all sales. A bit higher than usual, but not totally uncommon. Plus, the bundle contributed to 400-500k sales. So yes, 1 million digital is very likely.
That's fine, I hope it's good and I hope it's the last one. I hope they can create a much more deep love and world to play in or a top end platformer. Would be nice to see how good a high budget platformer could look beyond just ratchet. You do realise Uncharted 4 is the last Uncharted game. Hardly waiting around for the series to die, more like ending it on a high.
I'm talking about October in isolation, ~276k is pretty bad, there is context to be had next month, but that doesn't mean we can't comment on the current sales for October.

Could be her last game - she might disappear.
You feel I'm a Xbox only fan or something? What your saying makes little sense. But I have been assumed to be a playstation fan much more often in the past so that's ok.Yup, no need for those scripted and linear games like Ryse, Quantum Break, Halo 5 campaign...
Don't bother. I already tried hard enough to convince everyone it did well digitally. Its a lost cause, just accept Halo 5 didn't do as well as everyone hoped it would.
Depends on the offers available, I guess. The price cut was embeeded with offering basically three bundles: People had the choice between ready to take UCC bundles (affecting October sales) and preordering CoD and Battlefront (not affecting October sales)
I think that most decided to go with the later two games and wait a couple of weeks.
Maybe I am wrong here and November sales aren't that impressive either, but I think November will be very, very huge for PS4, even compared to last year.
The PS4 needs to sell 1.3m+ this November to make up for the mediocre numbers it's been having all year.

I feel Microsoft is actually in trouble.
Considering all the games they have made are in some kind of decline as far as I know? Including forza, but I really don't know about that one.
I know last generation they obviously relied on fable, halo, gears and forza and it seems they can't now.
I'd like a new deep fable though.
For now I only own halo 5, mcc, rare replay and I ain't happy with mcc and halo 5.
...Lets put some context on the digital angle, I'm just starting up. So, if we're going by 30% digital, it means it sold 1,357,142 copies in it's first week.
That graph is week 1, and then counter in the 78% drop the second week means it sold 298,571 in it's second week. For guesstimates sake, keep that number for the weeks after that, which means it sold a total of 2,252,855 copies in the full month.
What's wrong with that?...
I'm going to bed.

What is the usual drop weekly? So 78% on the second week, what drop for the 3rd and the 4th?How about for guesstimates sake we take into account normal(logical) sales patterns which means there'll be an exponential drop in sales every week after the first?

I don't know exactly, but simply saying weeks 3 and 4 will be the same as week 2 because of 'reasons' doesn't really paint a logical picture.
Halo is not a 'word of mouth' game. Everyone knows what it is.
With it's sales trajectory, what are we looking at for Halo 5 lifetime sales, 2.5-3 million?
Bear in mind that US is 65% of XB1's marketshare, and Halo is most popular in the country, and that less than a million debut looks very worrying.

A thread that was supposed to be remembered for the whole generation has turned to shit when cream suddenly disappears.
