How much was the PS4's August sales?
140k 3ds is a shame but the 50% increase in Wii U ( not by much in absolute numbers but still ) is decent.
No, it's just fantasy.

If sony wins November and the December, what then? "The real battle starts in January 2015"?
Is wager that with bundles included the PS4 version of Destiny outsold the XBone in the US without a doubt.
As a Halo fan?
what?
is this a parody post?
Yes, though for a new IP without a gigantic marketing budget that's pretty solid still.
It'd put it in the same ballpark as Dishonored.
A 2-3 million LTD isn't unfeasible, with some potential upside if it has good legs.
"Outsold" because new Xbone owners got Destiny for free (which counted /NPD).How many people already own a ps4? The Xbox One outsold it despite having an already smaller user base.
At retail for physical copies of the game, yes. Overall, no. NPD doesn't track bundles or digital.
Sony PR:
You know, we have internet here. In buckets.

I suspect that if the Sunset Overdrive bundle fails to keep X1 hardware competitive, Microsoft is gonna have to scrap their current bundle strategy (new free game with console purchase) and go to the next tactic on their list - a straight up $49-99 price drop on base H/W MSRP.
So far, their bundling strat at $399 has failed to move the needle vs the competition (Titanfall, Madden, FH2, September free game) and i think the data clearly points out that it's time to move on and try something new.
a $349 bundle with AC:U or MCC should definitely get them back in the hunt but the question is whether or not microsoft is willing to spend that much ($100+) for a single user acquisition.
As disappointed as I am sure they are with the state of things, I give them huge credit for not playing that PR game.
Pretty amazing fantasy tweet: https://twitter.com/aarongreenberg/status/507677066058158081

A new IP vs an established IP. What's surprising about that?Smash 3DS doing 705k in two days though. Fucking curbstomped Shadow of Mordor in less time which released on how many platforms? Three? Damn.
Halo can't do shit against that GTA5 bundle.
The Wii has that record.Wait, so PS4 broke the Sept record? That's insane, the holidays are gonna be insane

No, Wii sold 687k on september 2008
They need to just take that $100 hit. $349 isn't some mental barrier to cross the way $299 is.I suspect that if the Sunset Overdrive bundle fails to keep X1 hardware competitive, Microsoft is gonna have to scrap their current bundle strategy (new free game with console purchase) and go to the next tactic on their list - a straight up $49-99 price drop on base H/W MSRP.

Context. I probably should have put "as a person that has been immersed in Bungie's creative culture for a long time and is a fan of sci-fi first person shooters which in particular has recent history that can inform us on what word of mouth can do to a game in Destiny's mold." But I thought "Halo fan" would say all that.
And digital sales don't count either.

Wonder when someone is going to inquire on sales of D4

Maybe not...
I wonder if R* will announce any expansion packs for Christmas season, which would release exclusively on PS4 (first). That would really seal the deal. Where is the GTA V DLC anyway?
It's basically GTA V/Far Cry/LBP bundles vs. Assassin's Creed/Sunset OD/Halo/COD bundles (I assume these bundles will exist)
I am also expecting MS to pull out all the stops to bend prices and offer credit to sell Xbox, and I wonder if Sony is confident enough to just sell the bundles without extra deals.
November is going to be something.
On top of all this, if Sony beats MS in November when they have such a poor library for the holiday season (Driveclub scores/LBP is multiplat) compared to MS, it's going to be real bad for MS.
Sony haven't given out hardware numbers for years.Sony PR says nothing about hardware numbers. I wonder if the numbers are low.
