Ridiculous some people are paying $1000+ for the 1080 FE on eBay. I mean, it only went up (probably by mistake, too) on Amazon, so hasn't even sold out everywhere yet. I can't fathom why you'd pay over MSRP versus just trying to get from some other store on the 27th.
Jen-Hsun's NO.1 guy Tom basically says that G-Sync is their only future and they will invest in itThen i guess im talking out of my butt
I thought i heard it though.

I have a 980ti currently, but I'm currently in a a position where I can essentially get the 1080 and not lose more than $50 in the process. Would it be worth it?

People paid $3000+ for the 20th Anniversary PS4s...
I'm into custom wc and small form factor. HBM2 is way better than gddr5 in that regard.
What's the return policy at Microcenter like for graphics cards?
Might want to get the FE and return it once they announce non-FE cards from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and the like....
The thirst is real.

30 days no questions asked. Really easy to return something there. There are going to be a ton of open boxes soon after launch because a lot of people are planning on doing that.
Not long enough to do that. Didn't they say the aftermarket cards aren't coming for a month or two.

wait for better cooling solutions, the reference 1080 throttles itself.
So, I just saw this video and it looks interesting, it compares benchmarks between a 1080 and 980ti on various games @1080p and 4K, they even do some 1080 SLI.

What leak? That leak.. no hbm2 for titan and 1080ti?
Dream's dead.

There are a few surprises, specially with SOMA.

The 1080 SLI benchmarks are done with a different machine.
I will probably buy the asus 980ti matrix if I cant buy a 1080 on the 27th. Does anyone have this card? Is it a good substitute?
His benchmarks at 4K show very small improvements for the 1080. Seems that when both cards are overclocked, the 980TI keeps up rather well. Which I guess isn't all that surprising. After all, this isn't the 1080TI.
Yup, Computex starts that dayAccording to EVGA product manager's Twitter, we'll know the line up info for them on the 27th. For those that didnt know.
Nice. Fingers crossed for reasonable pricing.According to EVGA product manager's Twitter, we'll know the line up info for them on the 27th. For those that didnt know.

Is that benchmark done with the "old" SLI bridge or the new one?
i7 920 and r9 270 here.I'm sitting on a 570. So I'm looooong overdue myself.

I would really like to buy a 1080 but having a 2500k i think it's better if I wait for the 1070 right? I'm gonna bottleneck x80 with that CPU if I'm not mistaken.
And being in the field of x70 I have to wait for Polaris, at least in that range they should be competitive... computex can't come soon enough
How could his super detailed graphs lie, man?Either every single other site that has reviewed this card are telling lies or he is, the performance on his video is far less than that on other sites.

For example his witcher 3 benchmarks @ 1080p show a 10-12 fps increase where as techpowerup shows a 27fps increase....also the card he is using is apparently overclocked and yet techpowerups isn't and it is showing higher fps? How?
Wish EK would come out and say they are gonna make blocks for the EVGA FTW card. I wan't a card with better power delivery but it can't be taller then reference cards due to the build I have.
FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS
Hairworks.
I am also waiting on this. I want a classified but no point if EK aren't doing waterblocks (already have a custom loop). Apparently (going by a comment on another forum) they said custom blocks will be at least a month after launch. Hoping as soon as EVGA make an official announcement, so will EK.
Was hairworks on for the 980 bench?
I dont know, I'm guessing. But its the only explanation for the difference in fps with other reviews.
It could be that the 980Ti handles hairworks better than the 1080? Or when both cards are stressed, like in 4K, the difference is narrower.Still doesnt explain only the small difference in fps between the two cards.
Got a source on that EK comment?

No extra info or actual source unfortunately.
Maybe but a 17fps drop compared to other sites? Also his firestrike 1080p benches are well off, all his benchmarks are if I am honest.
