Valued at $3.43 trillion against Apple's $3.38 trillion at the time of this writing, NVIDIA Corporation is now the most valuable company in the world. NVIDIA has been the hottest tech stock since 2021, as it created the most valuable IP of this decade—AI GPUs, which were ready just in time for OpenAI and ChatGPT to open its doors, jumpstarting the generative AI revolution. NVIDIA's AI GPUs didn't come to being overnight, the company had been investing in the parallel computing and HPC space since the 2000s, with its CUDA programming language that lets application exploit the SIMD parallelism of its GPUs. In the mid-2010s, the company created the Tensor core, accelerating AI, and invested heavily in AI frameworks. Some of the most fundamental research leading up to GPT was done on NVIDIA GPUs. This would lead to the big payoff in the 2020s, helping NVIDIA become a multi-trillion-dollar company. Founding CEO Jensen Huang has been NVIDIA's brains and spine throughout the company's 30+ year journey, and its success could not be possible without him at the reins.

So is the gaming shit is a side gig for them now? They making mega bucks in the day job and then once a month do a shitty bar gig with their cover band as the gaming stuff.
Do they even have to do much there now? A modest increase in power every 2-? years on consumer versions of their AI tech will bring slightly better GFX and significantly better AI for games. Its still basically free money, the problem is fab capacity. GPUs are going to be harder and harder to get.

It had never happened before.

It had never happened before.

Happened in June when they overtook Microsoft by around 20 Billion close, to 3.34 Trillion from Microsoft's 3.32 (which Apple overtook), and happened last month again when they overtook Apple, at a 3.53 Trillion close to Apple's 3.52, but at close that day dropped to 3.47.

They are comfortably ahead of Apple now.

Are we going to have this thread once a week from now on?
Every time there's a minor fluctuation shuffling first and second?

People who are saying it is bubble or due to AI are totally AMD Shill to be honest or just hate Nvidia.

Nvidia is a top company due to it's vision.

It was nvidia that introduce Graphic Core, SLI, developed first AA (Anti Aliasing by Timothy) than nvidia developed Physics graphics, than they developed frame Pacing, than Nvidia introduced overclocking, which was followed on CPU and AMD (The overclocking method was the idea of Kingpin first when he was not in EVGA), Gysnc, DLSS etc.

The thing is that Nvidia developes and other follow that is why Nvidia is at 1 position. AMD only follows Nvidia it does not command that is why it is always second choice for gamers on PC platform.

wait for intel to get their shit together :pie_wfwt:
Yeah, well, we have been hearing that song since 2017 ... Intel currently gets beaten in the desktop gaming space by AMD's X3D products ... In notebooks by Apple silicon or Snapdragon ... In consoles by AMD, because they are cheaper ... In handhelds by Nvidia ... In cloud hosted AI hardware by Nvidia or AMD ... In manufacturing by TSMC ... Intel has killed the high end NUCs and sold the low end to ASUS ... The only space where Intel is looking good right now, is higher end XEON servers; and even there they will probably get outscaled by server ARM in the long term.

It wasn't a pivot. Jensen has been talking about AI since 2016-2017 ish. People had plenty of time to get in if they believed in the vision

Of course it was a pivot, even Nvidia publicly stated they were no longer a graphics company, but rather an AI company.
It's just that this pivot was long in the making. Even longer than 2016-2017.
Jensen did great by snatching the Intel engineers that were working on Larrabee, after Intel cancel the project in 2009.
This just reinforces that lack of vision of Paul Otellini and how far the vision of Jensen Huang goes.

The difference between AMD and Nvidia is that AMD runs it's company on emotions and think that world owes to AMD and Nvidia runs its company performance and vision.

Not a bubble at all...
With all the robotics, AI, self driving vehicles, mapping, video analytics, and so on. You think this is a bubble? The only thing that’s gonna happen is things are going to get more advanced, you’re out of your fucking mind.

What’s Apple‘s excuse? their bubble has lasted a long time. Microsoft?

So many armchair economists up in here. Comment on something you know shit about not this.

The only thing that's gonna happen is that the industry will get tired of the gap between revenue and investment growing larger every quarter without meaningful results. If they get any results in any high return market they are going to run it into the ground by flooding it with excessive offering. So it's a lose/lose situation but the FOMO grabbed the whole world by the balls and it's not letting go.

GeForce Now is farrrrrrrr better than anything on console like xCloud and whatever Playstation does. GeForce Now runs better than a ps5 pro or series X, it has complete replaced everything for me.
Maybe but GFN has nothing to do with consoles.

its pe ratio is 68 one dollar of their earnings gonna cost you $68 bucks. apple's PE ratio is 36 so $36 for one dollar of their earning both are expensive but nvidia is almost double are u in this for the long term then u pick the one that'll give u a better bang for your buck can't let emotions/preferences interfere. microsoft is 34. google is 23. amazon is 44

Valuation means very little at this stage when your a top 10 company.

Nobody is going to buy them for $3.43bn, so the number itself means diddly squat.

The individual share price however...

they have to lease whole nuclear plants because of all the energy AI is consuming how much is this AI going to cost thats going to eat into profits ???
true, but these companies are still moving forward with their plans, which is crazy and says a lot.

when your project needs a personal nuclear power plant and youre still getting the green light to proceed...
