Nvidia is the World's First Four Trillion Dollar Company

Biggest company in the world and the value is built purely on crypto and ai bubbles.
Not saying it'll burst, cause everyone wants a piece of this pie and therefore pour even more money into it.

But nothing of actual real world value is created. Purest investment capitalism form.

Always pisses me off for never investing in tech stocks in those mid late 00 years or early 10s years. Literally tech stocks only go up.

I ran some numbers on gpt
$10,000 in 2012 would have got you 4million today. What's 10k?

10k in 2017 would get to 1.3 million

At the end of 2020 I was fortunate enough to get a large sum of money from a family death. I used it to buy a house could argue smart .
That money would have got me 10 million in Nvidia.
It's pointless thinking like that.

There's hundreds of stocks currently sat at 3 or 4 dollars which will make you millions over the next ten years. No one knows which ones though.

And you could have sunk that money into stock, not bought a house, lost it all and now be living under a bridge.

The only constant in this crazy, crazy world is that Phil Spencer is a fucking dork.

The issue is that Nvidia dominates the GPU market
Which is a result of having no competition. We used to, or at least I used to, many years ago prior to dlss, switch from amd to nvidia gpus every 2 year or so. Ofc its not due to just gpus nowadays as they evolved in AI considerably, but ya know, if you ask 100 pc gamers Im pretty sure 80 out of 100 would pick DLSS over FSR in games. Steam hardware survey is not looking good for amd and intel. Outside of a some youtubers and gaf members, even cards lacking VRAM doesnt change a thing as 8GB cards still dominate.

I really hope AMD and Intel bring out some real competition on the high-end in the years to come.

I love my 5090 but I want to see some actual competition as Nvidia is very clearly no longer prioritizing gaming in the slightest.

I am hoping for some Chinese megacorp to release competitive GPUs so that Nvidia get beaten the fuck up. So that prices normalize again and a XX80 costs $600, as it should.

It's never too late, I've been hearing that it can't go up any longer for like 10 years and it has just kept going.

But I rather shave off the earnings and buy stuff than sit on stocks until I become a millionaire. Been doing that for many years now. Doesn't make me rich but it pays for my hobbies. And that's worth a lot. It's not like I can buy a $3k graphics card from my work salary.

Do you think that if I send my bills to these guys through email, they will pay them?

No. But if you send them an invoice for contract work completed they'd probably pay it.

It's how Nigerian/Indian/Russian scammers have amassed obscene wealth through scamming the absolute laziness of people working in accounts payable departments in these massive companies.

That's not the real problem.
The issue is that Nvidia dominates the GPU market and it doesn't even particularly care about it anymore, as it became basically a secondary market for them.
And whose fault is that? It's not Nvidia fault they made products which are good and all of their would-be competitors over the decades from 3dfx to ATI (later AMD) simply could not keep up in new technology or deliver on basic expectations like drivers that worked

Stop blaming Nvidia for being successful. Blame all the now dead competition over the years for sucking by comparison
