I'm in the market for a new card, but these are a little rich for my blood. When might we expect the GTX670, 660, or 650?
Fuck you nvidia for not giving me a solid release date and specs i would have gladly waited :/
Thanks,

"A few months"Do we have any idea when this will be available?
I have until April 3rd to return the 3GB 580 I bought last month. I'm definitely going to do it, but I'd much rather go up in VRAM instead of down.
I'm not paying half a grand for a GPU, so the interesting part of this for me is:
How low will AMD's prices go? 399 for 7970 or only 450?
Which then pushes the 7950 down accordingly...will 7870 remain untouched?
And when are NVidia's pitcairn level chips due, and what kind of price performance can we expect from them?
I mean right now I'd be looking at buying a 7870. So the question to me is if there will be any domino effect into that area, and how long I have to wait.
I think I'm going stock EVGA GTX 680. Still has nearly a gig more than my GTX 570 SC and I don't plan on going more than two monitors max. I get why people are doing 3 or even 4, but I don't have the space for that.
I would guess nothing, in a few months you may see it go to 500 with rebate. These are premium products and not where they make their money so I seriously doubt you'll see them drop prices considering the 7970 is still low stock most places.
Man.... stupid ass signed BIOS oc locked :l

Wasn't originally planning to buy this, but I'm considering scrapping my two GTX 480 cards for one of these. I figure the savings on the electric bill would probably cover the difference![]()
Not if you pony up the $$$ to EVGA when their classified cards come out.

$469 would be a safe drop. However, it really depends on the sale figures from this point forward. The 7970 keeps selling out most of the time so it looks like they are selling most of what they can put out. If this equation doesnt change or has little impact, I doubt they would drop the price.I'm not paying half a grand for a GPU, so the interesting part of this for me is:

7950 should drop to atleast $399.Which then pushes the 7950 down accordingly...will 7870 remain untouched?
May. 560TI 448 core level of performance as of few weeks back. I hope Nvidia doesnt do a 680 on the price. And when are NVidia's pitcairn level chips due, and what kind of price performance can we expect from them?

lolNow post another picture with the PC and a shoe on your head.
I really don't mind. I think the turbo boost is a better implementation than a static overclock.
It's really not.

The one I was waiting for.·feist·;36251909 said:
Can you elaborate?
Yes, and if implemented correctly this could be huge. E.g. if a game is programmed "badly" it will only use, say, 50% of the GPU, but the hardware can compensate to some extent by upping the clock. What are the advantages of turbo? Load based clocking?
personally I'm just waiting for the GK110 though![]()
partially because I don't care about energy usage and just want the biggest, baddest single chip GPU out there,
and partially because I'm hoping there will be some more *interesting* 120 hz monitors available around that time as my current GTX480@580+ish speeds is still going strong after 18 months with regards to 1080p 60 hz performance (except for some notorious cases ofcourse)
7970 owners with buyer's remorse because of GTX 680.
GTX 680 owners to get buyers remorse when 7990 comes out.
And the vicious cycle continues for all eternity.
No who wants a dual GPU on a single board. Waste of money, get two single GPU cards.

But I think the biggest impact would be in the case of laptops (and consoles?) where thermal considerations are paramount.
Oh man. My GTX 260 is really starting to age.
