You sold the 5080?Yeah
You sold the 5080?Yeah
Expecting +10% more performance for +33% power usage but hey, a small 1.2x boost in all ray tracing features and 16x AI Cores compared to the 5000 series.
Donate my old PCs and parts to my wife's old High School's PC lab that has an ESports program as well as just building and working on PCsWhat do you typically do with them once you move on? My cousin benefits off me. He has my old 3080TI and will eventually get this 4090. Lucky bastard.
Still have it in another PCYou sold the 5080?

If Rdna 5 has a card that's even like 10% faster than the 5090, I'll move to it if it doesn't use these stupid 12vhpwr connectors.I want know about rdna5. Moving from 4080 to rdna5 If perf is at least 50% more.
Only positive of this series is that Nvidia saw 8gb cards sold like complete garbage in the last year, so at the very least mid-tier is going to be 12gb+.
Not all of them.Their mid tier products are 12 GB right now.
I think the 6060 will be 9.
I just think it's weird they exist this way when my gtx 1070 back in the day had 8gb of vram
Yeah it completely retarded on Nvidia's part to still use 8GBs even for low ends.Only positive of this series is that Nvidia saw 8gb cards sold like complete garbage in the last year, so at the very least mid-tier is going to be 12gb+.
Still doubt they'll over better value than AMD in the mid-tier though, especially as AMD closes the RT + AI gap.
That's part of the Shrinkflation. IO doesn't scale well much if at all now, plus less chips. Makes it that much more expensive. They had 1 GB chips back then, it's only 2 now.
You're so rich, let me suck you dry
The 5090 needs DLSS to reach 60FPS and more when path tracing is on max details (Alan Wake 2).
But is that reason enough for a new generation?
That seems egregious, but this is the way forward for Nvidia, using AI to generate miles better real-time graphics than what we have now presumably, Neural Rendering will be a BIG feature for the 60 series for sure.8GB VRAM RTX 6060 for $999 and you will buy it.
You can't hate AI enough:

RTX 2060 super 8gb runs ps3 no sweatBut can it emulate PS3?
There has been no better use of AI yet.Another Nvidia card that only exisits on Gaming forums and not in stores.
Oh look another 5070 sitting on the shelf that no one wants. Soon it will be part of some Sora AI Disney short on Youtube.
Youtube keeps putting dozens of make fun of Disney stuff in my feed.
You're so rich, let me suck you dry![]()
Nvidia has certainly learned its lesson there. They're gonna make sure we're gimped moving forward.Oh fuck off. My 2080ti is still pissing all over everything I throw at it (@1200p granted!)
Is using DLSS at 4k with a 5090 a war crime?
I do it all the time. It's needed for high fps in quite a few titles if all bells and whistles are turned on.Is using DLSS at 4k with a 5090 a war crime?
I assume you don't play UE5 games?Haven't even found something to push my 5090 yet but still day one for the 6090.
It exists in plenty of datacenters training AI though!Another Nvidia card that only exisits on Gaming forums and not in stores.
I skip 3 gens even, honestly there are no devs left that push PC hardware. The sensible option is to skip gens so you go 4090-6090 then 5090-7090.
But im not a sensible person
Well hey is you haven't upgraded since the 3000 series then a 6050 ti might actually be a worthy upgrade.![]()
