NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

Every time I come back to this thread, I get closer to pre-ordering at Newegg. Just because I can. Are there any 3D graphic design or similar applications that use the enhanced compute functionality of the Titan to speed up renders? If so, I'll just make it a business expense.
 
Does anyone know how Newegg does pre-orders? Meaning, do they sell past the stock they actually have? Or does the pre-order button only stay up, for how many they have? They say shipping date is Feb 28th. But just curious.
 
What is the deal with 3-way and 4-way GTX Titans? Kingpin rocks 4-way in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDAA7KNoqec, yet in all of NVIDIA's docs it says 3-way max??

Hmm...looking at that chart it looks like they say the GTX 680 and such are only 3-way capable too...so whatever. Just some new weird thing NVIDIA is doing. Strange. It's like they want you to think the 690 is the only path to quad/4-way?

Haha. Yeah. Well, as much as I don't play that often, when I do play I want it to be maxed/perfect. AMD and CF is just not quite there. It's not that bad but it's not as good as SLI.

I caved in. I just hope there isn't a big difference between the Asus and EVGA version. I also hope Newegg is good with their pre-orders.

Nope they are all the same. Just like the 690. Just differing warranties obviously.

Right. I got that. I'm just advising people per normal course not for my own insanity. As most are into the hobby for games and tweaking second. Whereas I'm the reverse.

I'm tempted to grab an ASUS too but I want to have matching EVGAs even though there is no difference. Argh. I'm just loyal to those cats.

Awesome. Well, hopefully Newegg isn't taking more pre-orders then they will actually get. Since I pre-ordered this late, I would probably get kicked back on a list.

Ah well. I'm going to try to get a 2nd one in a month or two (whenever more stock comes in) to SLI this bad boy.

All of a sudden, Titan doesn't seem so bad.

I just pre-ordered two from Newegg. Limit of one, but I pre-ordered one for me and then another under my fiance's name. To the same address of course. Dunno if that will work or not lol

Pretty much confirmed 1499AUD retail for australians absolutely disgusting 500 more than the US(400 if you take GST) Im out not paying an extra 500 good luck.

I read it too. The Toms article lined up with my interests since their benchmarks were at the resolutions I use. But I made my way over to TechReport and Anandtech earlier lol

Yeah, In reading some of the stuff, they seem to be pretty good on air, but like all cards, maximum OC with decent heat is done via water. Time to take a jump into the deep end Smokey! lol

TechReport and PCPer are the only reviews that matter at all in the slightest bit. Fuck your resolutions son. The data doesn't mean much of anything anymore unless they are testing right.
